I'm playing in the new caves on my singleplayer world, I'm testing out to see what it takes to beat these caves, so I'm spawning in my gear that I have on my server, because my server isn't up as of right now, and I came across a yeti in the snow cave. Um, what does it take to beat these guys? I saw it took nearly 15 hits with a mastercraft sword, and it was a lower leveled one (112?) And a longneck doesn't seem like it's much good, takes too long to reload. I'm thinking either a shot gun, a fabricated sniper rifle, or a rocket launcher. I feel like the rocket launcher is really the only way to kill one without getting killed by one yourself.

going to try and hatch a carno in there and level it with them and use it to beat it, thus making the snow cave beatable with the already beatable (Shrekted:this is my) swamp cave.

you don't get it do you? rockets and explosives in general are designed to demolish constructions(or vehicles in real-life) not to kill dinos.
explosives even get a noticeble debuff against living things.
the shotgun, or the compound bow are your best bets now.

we did the snow cave with 3 people, 1 guy in mastercraft fur and an ascended riot shield taking the hits while the other 2 with a journeyman and mastercraft compound bow rain metal arrows from a distance. riot shield, try it!.

if you like it or not, ark is a tribe-minded game..this is annoying for the solo players but it is your nown choice to not play in a tribe and have all the benefits of one. the difficulty is good at it is

To be fair though, some people just do not have the capability to play in a tribe due to location or other circumstance so those folks have very limited "choices" However if they tweaked the ini files they easily could traverse the caves n sneeze kill the yetis.

or sneak in a baby saber because there small and have a dino gate inside to keep it safe before its an adult and you ride it to the artifact with its mad hops and bites

This is how I SP soloed it.
Resources needed:
TONS of stone windowframes, and I mean TONS.
Quite a few stone doors/doorframes, but not nearly as many as the windowframes
Millions of stone fence foundations
The best gear you have BPs for.

What you do: Every time you gain even a foot of the cave, make a wall of windowframes with one door. You should be able to capture the first 20-50 meters easily enough, just lure hostiles to the crawl space and shoot them. When you get further in and something is chasing you, run back to your last barricade and shoot them through the windows. When they are dead, advance again.

If you can do all that, then the cave should be just as easy. But I've never hatched an egg or done the new cave, so what do I know.

you could pull it off with 6 or 7 maybe even 8 ac's i bet. but it would be better to bring 2 sabers near the entrance, then have one grow up inside the cave.

because for me a raptor is the most iconic dinosaur there is. they are deadly, they are intelligent. like humans they co-operate and adapt to situations

i was talking about imbalanced becuase my mind was so crap then becasue i had stayed up all night and i couldnt think of sneaking a baby in.
only problem now is that i dont know if they fixed the bug where dinos would fall through the world if they are in caves when you log off
