Swamp cave damage?

I went in the swamp cave for the first time and right as i got in i started taking massive damage for no apparent reason so i sprinted out nearly dead. What was that? Bug or is there something im missing?

take a air tank, u have ingested swamp gas: aka methane or fart

heard about it a few hours ago, Imma try making a bunch of health brews, my best air tank is journeyman, descent at best, maybe use the air tank when im not getting rekt and switching back to the tank to heal, idk..

If i recall correctly the ideal gear combo is Scuba Mask, Tank, Legs, with Ghillie Gloves, Boots. Should prevent all (or nearly all) damage from the acidic environment. However it won't provide much protection from getting hit...
