I keep getting The exception Illegal Instruction on launch

Firstly, I don't know where I should have posted this so if its in the wrong discussion, uh, sue me.

The exception Illegal Instruction
An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.
(0xc000001d) occured in the application at location 0xed759070.

Click on OK to terminate the program.

Everytime I try to run ARK at any setting, I receive the message above and I am clueless of why. Have tried every single "fix" I could find. None of them work or provided no solution. I'm confident my PC isn't the issue as its literally a custom rig less than 2 weeks old (have played other games with no issues).

All of my relevant pc specs:
CPU - AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core
RAM - Mushkin Stealth 16GB @ 1600mhz
GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 950 2GB
OS - Windows 7 pro

Hopefully someone knows something?

I've actually reinstalled it 4 times. 2 times on seperate drives to no avail.

been getting that to. for me i just have to relaunch agian and it works. Some times though it takes a few trys

Make sure all drivers and updates are in place. Validate files. Best o luck.

Make sure it is allowed through your firewalling program.

Unreal Engine 4 applications (and games like ARK that use it) require at least as a bare minmum Windows 7 64bit with Service Pack 1 installed. You need to upgrade your windows

stop talking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The anticheat system works the same as VAC. you're using this since at least 8 months in Ark and since years in a lot of other steam games. it works exactly the same and is even automatically installed and started when you launch some games. Battleye even asks for permissions, which Vac for example doesn't...

Anyways.... Thanks for pointing that out crimsondrac and Desertworld. Now since my knowledge is potato when it comes to software, do I just consult google and search for said service pack download and, well download it?

you do windows updates. service pack 1 is one of them.

I didn't have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and I could run ARK just fine... Now that i've upgraded my CPU I suddenly get this error? What's going on?
