Quetzal platform build questions
Been away for 6 months, one thing I was anticipating was the Quetzal. We play on our private server and I'm going for a full mobile base. So far, the most area I can put on a quetzal is 6x7. Adding on to the build limit you can certainly go up and down in levels, but my question remains about that area.

Have they added a setting for servers to remove or tweak the "Requires Nearby Foundation Support" requirement? Or any other way to get around that limitation for private servers?

I am not sure about the server settings, but don't you think it will look kind of ridiculous having such a huge building flying under a much smaller creature?

It will, that's actually the idea.

no still need that foundation support, even with a no collision mod. also need to increase structure limit for platforms that can be done via ini settings.

Yeah that one is on, at 3x for now, that's 120 structures for quetzals. Don't wanna go too crazy on it. I suppose I'll have to do the hardest way, having 9 quetzals in a 3 x 3 formation. Oh boy, thanks for the info.

Since it's a private server with 4 of us, hopefully performance won't be an issue. The one thing that will be a royal pain in the ass would be to align them and keep them steady, but for now, I need to first breed the two 170 base quetzals I got and get a crapton of materials. Will let ya know how it rolls out ^^

I think I'm gonna do it on a bronto. A flying base is cool but loses its charm soon, specially because of how much glitchier it is given the speed of Quetzals. Carrying 5 dinos to a mining base was a royal chore with rubberbanding and glitching, because of the platform size. A bronto being much slower is much easier to maneuver, and a lot more possibilities as far as combinations and size and making a full blown 3 brontos by 3 brontos formation.

Won't the quetz just fly away and land as soon as you log off and there is no player on the platform?

Yes, however, if I were to do what I had planned, I would have set them to follow each other. That should prevent them from landing.
