"Upgrading" Foundations
Is there a way to "upgrade" my building from thatch to wooden without completely demolishing my entire house?

Just put the other foundation on it and it will break the thatch under without breaking your house. This goes for every thing you want to upgrade in the thatch wood stone metal tiers.

Except..... dino gates, right? I assumed I'd be able to upgrade my dino gates/gateways the same way, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Yeah I don't think it works with Dino gates. But oh well. Just break them and replace them. Nothing else will break if you break that since it doesn't add support for anything. But break the actual gate first and not the gate frame

I do wish we could replace dino gates the same way just because it takes time to make sure they aren't crooked but at least nothing breaks when you remove them first.

I haven't tried replacing a pillar in a while last time I did it didn't work it went under the old one and destroying the old one broke the floor and I don't know if it was fixed so be careful is all

Dino gates snap onto fence foundations. Do with that as you please

you can not 1 for 1 replace fence foundations either. You will have to rip down your entire wall if you want to upgrade your fence line. I ended up making the perimeter larger with each upgrade. but if your already using a large area, think about putting down metal fence foundations (or at least stone) to start with.

Just put the new foundation right where your old one is then when the old one is outlined with a green holo around it click and it will upgrade it.

With pillars it doesn't always work. If you place pillars first and then a ceiling on top, the new pillars that you want to replace the old pillars with snap to the ceiling instead of the pillars (with the ceilingnipples as a result). A way to counter that is to remove the ceilings directly above the pillars and you should be good
