Using railing instead of wall - is it safe?
Hi, I'm planning to use metal railings with metal fence foundations, high enough, in stead of wall, around a place with tamed dinos. I was wondering how it will work when there will be a wild carnivore close to the railing. Will it see and try to attack dinos inside or not? Can it hit tamed dino standing really close to the railing? Should I better use a wall? :-) Thx for responds

Yeah railings are fun, I had a whole house made out of them on a official PVE server once it was both neat, and stupid at the same time. Felt unique and looked interesting, but kept having flashbacks to working at a fastfood resteraunt....living in a giant fry basket.

So dinos don't glitch through railings?

Actually dinos can stick their heads thru walls and damage things safely on the other side. Its a clipping bug. Build a double wall to be safest.

Yeah I don't think anything stops dinos damaging behind walls. Especially things like T-rex or giga.

Railings are totally fine as a substitute for fence walls. If you want to make them in part of your house though ceilings dont snap to, you must place the railings before you put in the ceiling part.

a double wall or fense 2 foundations apart will stop a rex from clipping. a wild giga will eat through any number of layered walls.

Ill make double fence foundation then, there should be no gigas in my area
