How many tranq darts to knock out this giga?

There is currently a lvl 11 Giga on my server, I went to knock it out, with I dunno, 103 tranq darts? Around 60 were in the head, 30 were in the body, and the rest I either missed (because it ran away for some weird reason) or I hit my quetz. How many darts do I need to knock it out? I'm thinking 200, but I feel like a cross bow would be better...because it shoots faster. Would this be right?

using darts to tranq a giga is a total and complete waste, just use a crossbow

Sometimes it can look like you're hitting stuff, but you're really not .. even when you see it bleed.
And cool glad you knocked it out.

Sometimes it can look like you're hitting stuff, but you're really not .. even when you see it bleed.

since i put my graphics on low, i couldn't see if it was stuck on rocks or anything, because it was stuck where i got it, and i moved it, and i had around 105 tranq darts, most to the head, some to the ground, still didn't get it. had a bug though, where i couldn't reload sometimes, dunno if that caused the issue

Depends on the wep dmg really lets say i have a 500% longneck vs a 118% longneck riffle or for that matter a 500% cross or 118% cross then i takes a diff ammount of arows/darts to take down the same level animal if you would have say twins and tryed them bot out with the diff stat wep! the more wep dmg ur cross or longneck have the more torper it does at the end! tested this for a verry long time so i know what im talking about a 762% longneck ascendant riffle does arround 1k torper the 118% longneck only arround 200/300 at best you see where im going? good thats the situation adjust to it and have fun

Darts are for low HP and flying dinos. Crossbows do too much damage to the weak dinos and flyers due to the damage modifier.

If you can get your hands on a 175%+ crossbow (occasionally dropped by alphas) it makes KOing land and water dinos very easy.
