What is the *Overall* best gun in ARK?

Exactly what the title says, what do you think the best gun is? Now, we know which gun has the highest DPS, and which has the highest per-shot damage; but when the chips are down that doesn't matter.

A longneck is useless with many targets or if you are very close range. Likewise the shotgun is (as per videogame stereotype) useless at medium to long distances, and the ammo is fairly expensive for both. The durability lost per shot of a fabricated sniper makes it a non-ideal weapon to carry in an average situation.

My choice for the best overall? You may laugh when you hear this: the Fabricated Pistol. Oh yes, it may have the lowest per-shot damage of any gun in the game but do not be fooled. Its DPS is 140, and it has a decent clip size. Even so, its damage is only slightly worse than the assault rifle. Unlike the assault rifle, I would carry this thing anywhere because it only weighs 2.5 lbs. But by far my favorite thing about this firearm is that each round only costs 1 powder, and only 1/3 of an ingot to produce, allowing target practice to actually be feasible. Not to mention the gun itself is cheap if you go clubbing. For a medium tribe of traders, this weapon is a must to fight off dinos at a distance, or the occasional bandit.

Gonna run out of ammo pretty quick. I once encountered a guy who had just looted an assault rifle and a longneck off of me when I was offline. He ended up killing my naked character with a sword because he couldn't aim: shot off 40 rounds with the assault rifle and 4 with the longneck. Not a single one hit me.

Simple Pistol. Might not be effective based on resources, but its got a bite like no other. 6 of them. I love it.

I guess im a little biased, as one time I had like 100/300 health, and a lv 30 t-rex came at me, and my shot gun and longrifle blew it up.
