I mean...I did vote for the beetle just slightly above it in my personal wants because the taming method for those was more adorible over horrifying but....a bug won. A BUG WON. And daaaaaaam is it pretty, A little horrifying but pretty. Finally having one swimming flyer is great and it moves in every direction. ....Little bit scary to think about runnng into wild ones. More reasons to be reluctant to cross swamps.

They are pretty fast too.
Can catch up with a "sprinting" Wyvern and completely outmaneuver it.

Yep completely Broken animal that the power creep in this game has caused to happen. Sadly this tame will be on the island at the start of the release of ASA and invalidate 1/2 of the tames in the game once base breeding of land animals picks up with mutations after a 2-3 months. Thing needs changes already its obvious. for what it can do it should fly no faster than a Argent.

Rhyniognatha is by far the wonkiest critter to ever go into ARK. Concept and design was there, but the coding characteristics (AI, flight, animations) are sub-par for a "Sky Giga". Since the wyverns, I thought this was going to add a fear factor to flying and that the Rhynio would be a menace from above as you explore the maps. ARK truly lacks a "threat from above", and I was disappointed that the Rhynio did not fill that void. I like that it has a challenge for breeding high levels and the breeding mechanics are fun... it just needs more attention in the areas I mentioned to round this one out.

I prefer it as a little less then sky gigas. Gigas have always been over the top in my opinion. So powerful they loose most of that power if you tame them. I always found that very lame. That and also the not allowed to bring it into boss arenas. Gigas should have been left untamable at all with some big reward for killing one or some rare egg drop from killing them to justify the nerf. (Raised by human giga doesn't know how to giga rather then wild animal forgetting how to wild animal)
The bug could have some higher spawning alphas or something though. Stuff with a high agro range but high flight that you have to avoid. That'd be fine by me.

No. Argent needs to be faster. None of the old flyers even LOOK natural in flight when you see them from the ground.

I like Big Bug. Des Bat always be my fav mount.

Ark is missing sky threats. Game teeters between challenge and dumbing down. The raptors once pounced everyone off mounts. People complained but it was good complaints not real. Some made it real. So raptor pounce was removed except X/R w/e raptors can still pounce a little bit. Only found in Vanaheim.

Got scared kapro would get a nerf next.

So game gets dumbed down any time someone complains about anything. Then people get bored and leave.

But there never was a high sky threat. Always if you could learn to fly you would be safe.

I would not want thylacoleos that could jump up instead of down. Getting pounced was getting annoying. And the swarm was hated. But perhaps something more rare but scary would have sufficed. It will not be Rhyniognatha. But Big Bug does make the swamps a bit more challenging. It killed my mount and chased me all over for a bit.

The violent wyverns on Crystal Isles are the only sky hassle but so much a seclusion is not a real threat.

back when movement argents were a thing you could out play anyone on a ptera with its instant turn and speed it was amazing - they should add a small amount of movement speed to them but if you ask me the one that needs it is the quetzal - noone was scared of a 260 movement speed quetzal it just made farming much nicer

Oh yes. Quetz needs it especially. It is SOOOOOOO painfully slow. I can barely even stand using them. It's like thy were genetically modified to have a balloon in their gut as their method of lift instead of their wings at all but they never told the Quetzl's that so they just kind of flail their wings not entirely sure how to use them for steering with this new method.

Very happy with the move speed. It's my new favorite general purpose mount now.

Fast, can pick up all kinds of tames to drop in taming pens, and it can fight too toe to toe with the big boys. Equivalent to a rex/spino/rock drake/etc. i have one that's up to level 320+ and I can kill alpha's with it. KIll an alpha rex in a few minutes, never even got hit once. Just hovered above it, striking downwards with it's claws.

Decent carry weight too. Definitely not a bulk hauler like a quetz or a gasbag, but it's surprisingly decent.

And I can GATHER fish meat with it, just dive straight in and harvest, leave the water and fly away. Loving that immensely. And not getting unmounted when I hit the water by accident while doing other things. Definitely NOT an ocean mount though: just fyi, if you unmount the rhynia while underwaterm it will go straight up to the surface.
