If you bothered to read the official wc posted news about things, you'd know that playing single player is not affected. Ascended for all intents and purposes is a -new- game and being charged for it as one even though its primarily just a remastery. Only major impacts of Ascended on Ark 1 is that official servers only are being shut down and obviously the division of the player base between those who will play ascended and those who will remain playing Ark 1.
Correction: They are only ending server support for ---Official Servers---. The 70,000+ unofficial servers are not affected by that.
Just some clarifications again, especially due to this aged, original thread being from May and per your points regarding ASA:
1. Only the 1400 official servers for Ark Evolved were shut down by Snail Games on Sept 30th.
2. Unofficial servers (run and maintained by players still remain active and currently are 60,000+ in numbers. At the time of the official server shut down in sept, there were 70k unofficial servers then. Of course with the release of Ascended, Evolved unofficials would see some losses(as players choose to go there to play) however, having lost less than 10k servers since then only is of note too.
3. While Ascended is a being sold as a separate game. It is for all intents and purposes the same fundamentally as Evolved sans the UE5 change and some other changes. Even some of the same issue that have plagued Evolved since 2015 are present and the core flaw of both games(ecocide) remains prevalent.
4. If by "porting" you mean moving characters and creatures from ASE by players to ASA, correct, that is never going to happen due to the intentions and implementation by the devs for ASA.
5. Grove Street Games and Instinct are the primary 3rd party developers that have made ASA on behalf of Snail and Wildcard is doing the remaining work for it, also claiming(per the ExtraLife event) that Wildcard has their entire team focused on its work and therefore that puts the Ark 2 production on an indefinite hiatus. "Getting used to it" ie the UE5 engine is not the reasons for the primary issues people have experienced on ASA, nor the carrying over of the issues from ASE nor the design flaw of the game with Ecocide either, just to be clear.
6. The Survival of the Fittest claimed to be releasing this month (per the Extra Life Event) is also essentially mirroring the points mentioned in points in #3(sans the ecocide per se...)
7. All 12 of the ASE maps will be on ASA as has been discussed for 6 months and reiterated again during the Extra Life event with an updated road map putting the staggered releases of them up to and through to the end of 2025(likely though 2026 given some of the release dates seem unlikely and more likely to be pushed back. After all the first DLC map isnt coming until March(scorched earth (delayed/pushed back yet again).
8. ASA with each staggered DLC map release also intends to sell "packs" (microtransation for the DLCs really) that will have skins, engrams and dinos at a cost). Something to thus be mindful of and some claim this constitutes a pay to win scheme due to the engram and dinos intended in those packs as is being debated in various threads on the Ascended forums.
