Failure. Unable to connect to server, app id specified by server is invalid( this information show me steam)

It's not a steam issue, the game servers are officially shut down i believe, see the various posts popping up. I think personal servers and non dedicated sessions still work.

It is steam issue, i am playing on private servers, i don't care official servers. Steam browser can't even detect it's own connect link like steam://connect/87.244.131.250:27250 Normal browsers detecting and launching steam but steam failing to connect cuz trying to connect over querry ip instead of game ip. Can't detect even what game should be launched.

For anyone still having this issue and or can't add the server to favorites, I may have found a fix (at least for an Ark Nitrado server). Connecting via Nitrado originally gave me "...app id specified by server is invalid" and adding the server to favorites via the Steam client initially gave me "Server not found".

It now works when instead of using the game port to add the server to favorites in Steam (22777 in my case) using the listed query port (22778 in my case) which fixes it. So changing 11.1111.111.111:22777 to 11.1111.111.111:22778 allows me to connect to my ark server. (Still can't join via Nitrado however.)

(May take some time after the server boots before Steam recognizes it's online and you can add it to favorites with the query port.)

I have found a solution to this, works for any game, you just need the games ID, And use a diffrent part of the steam protocol.

This will Direct Connect, Same as the steam://connect/ does.

steam://run/346110//+connect ADDRESS:PORT/

346110 is the id for ARK

Has anyone found a solution to this?
I am not able to do ANY of the suggestions and even going through the game itself.
I'm the dang owner of the server and I can't connect
really frustrated :(

use the ingame steam server (View > Game servers) and add them by IP:Query_PORT

don't use the gameport. on vebsites like battlemetrics you get both. copy the query port and paste it when adding a new server.
