Failure. Unable to connect to server, app id specified by server is invalid( this information show me steam)

Just had it myself on both my Ark servers. I'm guessing Steam / Wildcard broke something?

i was able to get on two days ago and tried to get on yesterday and today and have not able to get on. I tried getting help from G-Portal themselves but I have not had any luck and I've been talking to them for about 4 hours now

Issues started after a steam update yesterday for me.
If you have not noticed, the UI for when a server is down/full has changed.
They have changed something with steam://connect/<ip>:<port> protocol and the connection UI.

A friend of mine found the solution. U need to start ur server then go to "View" in the top bar in steam, go to game servers then to history, right click on ur server and add it to favorites (just so it stays there). then u can join over this overlay after starting the game

Not really a solution for my problem.
Using Steam browser is no different from using the in-game browser and that has always worked. I guess the Stream browser is slightly less janky than the in-game one.
The issue I have is with desktop shortcuts that use the format:
steam steam://connect/<ip>:<port>
I like them to be able to instantly choose which server to join by just double clicking a shortcut. Now, when I do I get the error but the UI is still connected to the server and is able to display which players are online etc.

I have been getting the same issue i booted up our server this morning from G-portal got back from work and can't connect hope they fix this ASAP

Steam client making mistake, when we try connect server via battlemetric's Connect link, steam detecting game [ip:por]t wrong. Trying to connect on querry ip instead of game ip. I reported 1 month ago, i'll report again. Pls keep reporting they have to fix this mess. Everything was working perfectly 1 mont ago.

It's not a steam issue, the game servers are officially shut down i believe, see the various posts popping up. I think personal servers and non dedicated sessions still work.

If you check the date of the original posts and most of the others in the thread, this was well before the September 30th shut down of Official servers.

And again the shut down is only for the 1800ish official servers. 60,000+ unofficial servers remain usable as they're player run either on their own rigs or via hosting services.
