Metal Sickle DOES NOT gather Prime Fish Meat at all

Tested on quite few Megalodons.
Metal Pick gathers several prime fish meat chunks per carcass.

While Metal Sickle does 0 .. nada.
All the time.

Is both the wiki and ingame description BS or is it some sort of bug?

Sickle only collects prime fish meat from salmon.

Is your pick also of a higher tier quality and damage? That can factor the prime drops too.

A sickle will harvest prime from the sharks.
A pick will also sometimes not harvest prime from the sharks either.

Megaladons do not always provide much prime under default play circumstances with common tools or low damage tames that dont have optimal prime harvesting either.

Is your pick also of a higher tier quality and damage? That can factor the prime drops too.

It doesn't "sometimes" collect prime meat from sharks. It just doesn't at all.

My Pick is Journeyman quality while the Sickle is Ascendant.

All it collect from sharks is raw fish meat. Never prime fish meat.

After more testing i tried primitive one cause thought maybe the quality bugged it? Nope it also doesn't collect prime fish.

I killed so many sharks at this point that i can 100% safely say that sickle doesn't collect any prime fish from them. At all. Never. Nope.

The Pick does however.
Very reliably albeit in small quantities.

Bigger would include the meg(sharks). It can be harvested from them but per what I mentioned.

I believe you can get Prime Fish Meat if a tamed ichty-gull picks up one of the fish for you. If not, it's definitely boosted prime fish meat from Salmon. You can otherwise find them from alpha sharks, Squids and Leeds. You can also swim up to a Leed and press E on it to harvest a lot of fish meat from it, randomly picking between normal and prime fish meat. (Leeds won't fight back if you harvest em off).

Like i said sickle doesn't harvest prime fish meat from Megalodons.

Pick does. Reliably almost all the time but in small quantities.

Metal sickle does not at all under any conditions no matter the quality.

If you think otherwise you may have misremembered something. Or maybe Wildcard changed it cause people were getting ez prime fish from super common Megalodons and server you played on had it set so you can or something.

Try it for yourself in single player and record video of the progress. You won't get any prime fish meat from using a sickle on non alpha Megs not in vanilla game. Unless you use other tools and NOT the Sickle.

Anyways while digging around whenever it's bug or intentional i found this comment on dododex

Metal pickaxe gives you raw prime fish meat from megalondons.
