They also decided to align themselves with known Bloatware Overwolf, which is also believed to be Spyware (unconfirmed), for premium mods which i strongly surmise will be used for mod-related micro-transactions in ARK: Survival Ascended.

Just to answer your first question, that's because there hasn't been this much social media coverage about it before, which has recently just shined a spotlight on Snail Games. Anything they do now is being watched carefully.
