Ark: Survival Ascended?

I've recently returned to the Ark sphere of influence and I've heard about something called "Ark: Survival Ascended." I quickly looked it up but I can't find anything official, only articles talking about planned fixes and changes. What is this thing anyway?

Basically Wildcard is going to be releasing a remastered version of Ark in August*. The new version will be running the Unreal 5.0 game engine (vs the 4.0 used by existing Ark), will have a reworked building system, a bunch of minor changes, new creatures added to existing maps (starting with Scorched), and a new story map released later on. The official servers for the current Ark will be shut down at this time, and save files posted. Single Player & Unofficial will be unaffected.

*Assuming they stay on schedule.

In addition to what DreadCthulhu said, the current version of the game out right now (ark survival evolved) has essentially been "finished".

The new dino they just added, the giant rhyniagnatha, is the last dino being added ever to ark survival evolved.

There won't really be any more official events from wildcard.

Ark survival evolved will only be receiving necessary bug fixes as needed.

Everything new will be going into ark ascendant when it launches.

Not to mention it doesn't matter if you already own normal ARK no free upgrade or discount gotta pay full price for almost the exact same game.

I suspect ASA is an emergency attempt at cash for them, i fully believe they can't afford the official servers and that's the main reason why they're going offline. I sincerely doubt based on the scattering of screenshots they've released that ASA will be anywhere near done by August but we'll see.
