New year event today?

Is there a new year event today? 31th dec 2022 / 1st jan 2023?

Sorry for asking, read about the event a year ago and didnt see anything about one today?

From the patch notes:

v355.6 (355.5 client) - 12/21/2022 - Minor version for servers and clients
- New years can be set by unofficials earlier to account for all time zones.
- The earliest value that can be set is 1672480800

In single player it does NOT work, it just says "happy new year 2023" but there is no rain of gifts.

Happy New Year!

'Happy New Year!' event is now enabled on Official Servers. The event is set to go off at 06:00:00 and 1. January 2023 18:00. Servers running the event will be bombarded with raining gifts in a hail of fireworks to mark the end of 2022. These gifts will contain a collection of your favorite skins from past events that are currently unavailable and a chibi bonanza! And by bonanza, we mean, the drop rate of Rare, Very Rare, and Legendary chibis will be dialed to over 9000!


Unofficial Servers can enable the event with the following commandline param: -NewYearEvent
To modify the times, the following commandline parameters can also be used:
?NewYear1UTC=1672560000
?NewYear2UTC=1672603200

You can use https://www.epochconverter.com/ to get your appropriate timestamp.

Some additional notes:
This event can only be run ONCE on a savefile (with 2 triggers).
If a server is set to run the event at a time already passed, then on load the server will immediately trigger the gifts.
If a custom time isn't set, then the event will run default at 06:00:00 and 1. January 2023 18:00.

like last year i think the event dont trigger in SP before midnight in your local time, not sure if changing pc date can trigger, last year we could start the event on singleplayer any day after january 1st

I did change the PC time, it did trigger, but only with a message, no rain of gifts.

So - what do we do to enable the event - just log in, hit tab, and type in -NewYearEvent into the console? I have it enabled on my Scorched Earth map on ASM, but I don't really know how this works.

I started a local server an got it.
The loot is very good, almost everything of highest quality.
But as single player absolutely no chance to open every gift box, way too much boxes in a short time.

I had -NewYearEvent as command line parameter and did start a server. Don't know if it works on a running server.

But what if no one is logged in? Do you HAVE to be on at midnight to get the gifts? At 9pm (PST) I'm going to be celebrating with my family.
I CANNOT figure out how to reset the time. I do NOT get that time change thing. Sorry to be such a dummy head.

You can change the time on your server with this params:

?NewYear1UTC=1609477200
?NewYear2UTC=1609497200

The time is a number representation, go to the following link to convert it, or just change the time of your server. The event triggers at 5:00am GMT+0 by default, if those params are not provided.

The gifts are there for about 1 or 2 minutes, then they decay.

Ok, I managed to get the time code, but I'M SO SORRY - talk to me like I'm four, please. :) How EXACTLY would I enter that into Ark Server Manager to get the thing to launch at 9:30 pm on December 31st in the Pacific Time zone - this is the time stamp they gave me. 1672551000 (on New Years Eve) 1672594200 (the second event on New Years Day) 1672594200

How would I enter that into Ark Server Manager, like this? (on the line that says Launch Arguments?)
-NewYearEvent ?NewYear1UTC=1672551000 ?NewYear2UTC=1609497200

Do I leave a space in there like that? I don't really know how to enter server commands into the command line.

That's to set the event to go off at 9:30pm, PST on New Years Eve, and 9:30am PST on New Years Day. :)
