Fatal error added to the post, link removed.

This is what is driving me nuts. I have reinstalled this multiple times just to get this error. even with lost island map not being installed.

As has been explained across many different threads for years now, the file designation does not reflect an error(ie that you see "lost island") its just how the devs organize the designations. In years past we've seen people think such correlation equals causation when the devs organized the file designation with the summer event naming.

Also as other pointed out, devs and support intentionally do not interact on this forum in this capacity.

To then better help potentially source your issue and possibly provide you with solutions and for the added sake of clarity:

1. Go to the steam help menu, click system information and then copy paste all that here so we can see what steam detects for your rig and any potential discrepancies.

2. If using modded content, list all mods by name and in their specific load order.

3. Does this issue occur in A: single player only. B: Official servers C: Unofficial servers: D: any combinations of A-C? Please test each to confirm.

Start with those basics and lets see from there.

Ark tends to have issues in resolutions above the 1900 x ---- range. Drop to 1 monitor and make sure the primary and desktop resolutions are set to that range and the same.

2. You failed to answer things regarding use of modded content.

3. You failed to answer things regarding circumstances in which you're experiencing your crashes.

4. Make sure you're using the nvidia geforce experience to also set your graphics card to the proper ingame settings that your card is meant to handle. I believe there are some settings it isn't meant for that 2000 series card to be playing in the highest fidelity settings.

However, do not use the nvidia geforce experience in game overlay feature. That feature can have issues.

No, tried with and without Mods. same error. I have done everything from Fresh reinstall to driver updates. so I can try a lower resolution if that's the problem if at all going by retsam1's suggestion on that.

I also have crashes with text "LostIland" in the Errormessages. Already after starting the game, sometimes after 5 seconds then afer 30 seconds. But not loaded any Lokal or Server-Map (?)

Also having an Nvidia but an older one GTX1070.
Also having 2 Monitors..... one 2550x 1440 and one 1920x1080
But until today NO problems with this resolutions. perhaps after update Ark and/or Nvida...??
I check this later...

Steam-Repair don't help.

Completely reinstalls the operating system, it is a bug in System32.
No matter how much you reinstall the game, or graphic drives, it will continue giving that error, the solution is to clean the operating system completely.

Happy Holidays.

Mine seems to be another error.... It seems to be ok now.

I deleted the File and "repaired" the installation over steam, Now it seems to be ok.

First Line in my Log:
Assertion failed: CurrentPos + Count <= TotalSize() [File:F:\build\LostIsland\Engine\Source\Runtime\CoreUObject\Private\Serialization\AsyncLoading.cpp] [Line: 2102]
Seeked past end of file ../../../ShooterGame/SeekFreeContent/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/MESHBUNDLE.uasset (850760615 / 850760613)

File I deleted:
/ShooterGame/SeekFreeContent/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/MESHBUNDLE.uasset

If you used bad mods, then there's a high chance removing the mods isn't going to fix your single player save of the game. Bad mods can often corrupt a save file to the point you have to start with a new one.

Also, b0s_q has a completely different issue that they were not following the direction to resolve either. Their UE4 error code revolves around neconnection related errors BUT they also had other minor things that can be discrepancies for play capabilities otherwise.

As I asked you before and which you didnt do, I asked you to test whether you can join servers such as official and unofficial ones. This was to help try to make sure -where- and under -what conditions- you were experiencing the crash.

Single player seems to be the only thing you're focusing on without testing otherwise. Thus if you did manage to test on an official The Island server and you -are- able to play on it. That helps inform you its a single player specific issue and thus going back to what I was saying above.

All in all at this point, best of luck to you.

So are you saying this was a Nerf intentionally done by Microsoft? 👀
