Methods for Gathering Black Pearls and Rhino Horns

Anyone found any differences when gathering the new black pearls via:

1) Eating the scorpion with a dino
2) Using a certain hand tool on the dino

I've tried both methods on a couple scorpions that I found, but didn't notice any differences. I didn't get a single pearl :(

Likewise, anyone noticed any difference when gathering the new rhino horns via:

1) Eating the rhino with a dino
2) Using a certain hand tool
3) Looting the corpse

I haven't had a chance to go to the snow biome yet to try different things out. I'm wondering if they behave like the Argen claws, Megla teeth, Rex arms, and Bronto vertebra where there's a chance to get some from eating the corpse vs accessing its postmortem inventory.

So far as I can tell, all Rhinos have exactly one horn which is in their inventory upon death and can be auto-looted by mounts that kill them if that feature is active.
