Pros & Cons - Raptors (Utahraptors)
Raptors are quite common around the island, and are extremely ruthless and powerfull in low-end game. Although they are not a menace mid-game, they still pack a punch. They are easy to tame, but is it really that good to tame one?

PROS
-Fast, VERY fast
-Nice health
-Can jump & sprint while attacking
-Looks awesome
-Easy to knock-out and very easy to tame
-Saddle really cheap, even for a low-end dino.

CONS
-Hard to control
-Sounds weird (Not really a problem, but still)
-Base weight is terrible
-Scares the ever-living crap out of you when you notice there are 2 or more together, and they look like they are protecting an Alpha.
-Not the best damage on tame, so that is a bit of a dissapointment.

To conclude, tame it. Worth every second. Just make sure to tame many, one will never be enough.

What dinos should I do next?

Raptors took the hardest blow of all dinos when they nerfed Dino damage/health a good while back. I remember a time when we caught a little level 9 raptor using slingshot and fist. Today we've got a Level 170 Raptor and it does not feel as strong as the level 9 back when Ark was still young. :steamsad:

raptor are worstless, all tamed dino are worstless cuz of the nerf patch. Trike/Anky still the best for defense since they can Knockback anything. I feel safer with anky or Trike then a raptor lol

One raptors aren't great. Cheap saddle for a low end Dino? All the low end dinos have cheap saddle. Nice health? Uh, yea, no. Any player can easily kill a raptor. But the newer players are just scared and don't know what to do, instead of learning how they work. Anything can easily kill a raptor when mounted, one trike or heck, even compys will kill a raptor pretty fast. They're good travel mounts, not battle mounts.

Giganoto and quetzal is best for defense since they are OP.

I like the raptor's personality. Kind of a "party 'til you die" sort of thing :)

Nope. I tamed a lvl 60 Raptor with only a few Tranq arrows, guess what. It had 2100+ Health.

As I said in the post, this is a Low-end dino only. Obiously a Quetzal or a Giganto are much stronger

I wouldn't say all tamed dinos are useless. Brontosaurus are still HP tanks with a wide and long attack arc, giganotosaurus is still absurdly OP against all but rival gigas, the beaver harvests an insane amount of wood with low attack power and can attack while underwater. Rexes are still a decent standard battle mount(especially bred), mosas are still unrivalled underwater, and lastly the Quetzalcoatlus is overpowered because you don't even need to level anything except HP for a battle mount, then pop an RPG turret on the platform saddle and voila! You have the most powerful and mobile siege platform in the game possible

I like the raptor sounds, its a big plus for me tbh.

Raptors are fine for when starting out, especially when you can tame one or two early on it really helps allot getting you off the ground. Easier to get meat, skins etc. They have THE best sounds in game
