Dunkleosteus, Speed or Dmg?

I wanted to know if it is better to raise the speed to pick up faster, or increase the damage to gather more oil each node.

I would go speed and stam personally, even a low level Dunk is pretty righteous at snacking on those oily nodes, but my word doesn't it take a long time to get from one to the other. I'd at least stick enough in so that you won't feel like you're going to get overtaken by an OAP Sunday driver.

I usually do damage early on, because killing is how you get XP; also will bump HP and/or stam if/as needed. Once I get it into a killing machine, then I put points into speed for a bit, and then back into melee, then back into speed.

This worked great with a high level Mosa tame I did. Massive killing machine that is only getting faster and faster; killing and swimming.

For my dunkle, I got it to around 140 speed and 1k stamina and putting he rest into dmg. Unless weight begins to become a problem.

Normally, I'd agree, but the Dunk is just sooooooo sloooooooooow. First few levels you get pretty much for free by doing nothing so stick those into speed at least. Even then it won't be shark speed but at least it won't feel like you're swimming backwards.
