This new "Manta" dossier is completely inappropriate and unacceptable.

G'day mates. As the title states, it is completely inapprepriate.

Many of you will know that on September 4th, 2006 an Australian national treasure called Steve Irwin lost his live to a Manta ray in a freak tragic accident, where he was stabbed by the Manta's tail. Crikey!

I believe this image and paragraph to be inhumane, and disgusting, Studio Wildcard you should be ashamed of yourselves for this thoughtless act.

as an animal expert IRL allow me to clear some things up.

The barb of a manta ray is NASTY. Not your ordinary everyday ouch. They are several levels worse than that. The barb goes in like a knife but it grabs ahold of whatever it pierces and if you try to yank it out, guess what? it rips a large amount of tissue out with it. Essentially you tear a large hole in your body. It will destroy any internal organs the barb has pierced. Manta ray barbs require surgery to safely remove without potentially killing you. Maiming is common. If you get barbed in the hand or the foot, they will be severly messed up for the rest of your life. Period. end of story. They are also extremly painful, or so i've heard.

Steve got stabbed in the heart. He made the mistake of trying to pull the barb out wich destroyed his heart. No heart no life. He would have probably survived if he had not tried to pull it out.

That said, manta rays dont go out of their way to attack poeple, steve only got barbed because the manta felt threatened. I feel that if the manta really does end up being agressive that it is completly inaccurate to the animal in real life.

Don't feel bad, the OP got it wrong as well... although I'm sure in his case that was entirely intentional.

You don't often see a troll post go to the effort of including and altering a graphic to go along with the post to help with the misdirection, so nicely done to him on that point. He took the chance that most people can't distinguish between a Manta and a Stingray, but it appears to have paid off for him in this case. Too bad the whole thing is in such poor taste.

dude i like many people loved watcvhing croc hunter growing up and i considere steve to be a hero of mine unfortunatly i was absaloutly disgusted by the news that when this tragedy struck millions of peop0le in austrailia took it up on themsleve to find and brutaly murder any and all stig rays...... a creature that will only attack if thretened... now was that fair????? no its not and i know steve who loved nature in all its wonder would have been appauled by the actions of those people..... shame for making such a big thing for a picture on the corner of a game dossioer about a an exstint prehistoric creature and shame for linking this to a tragedy like irwins death to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ VIDEO GAME THAT HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO THE IRWINS UNTIMLY DEATH...
