Doedicurus not gathering metal?

Hi folks

According to the wiki the Doedicurus is excellent at gathering metal, yet when I hit those gold stones for metal it only gathers stone?

this. Ankylos can harvest metal from any rock though.

Exactly.

Everything else is a rock to a doed, including crystal, sadly.

Huh. I didn't even know doeds could get metal from obsidian. You learn somethin new every day

I keep both a doed and an anky at the volcano rim mining base for those reasons. When I need obsidian, the doed comes out, and I just take the metal ore as a bonus. For true metal runs(plus crystal), the anky lays waste to the whole place.

For the record, I only learned it myself a little over a month ago. Only every used the doed for rock and used the anky obsidian. Then, I read someone saying use the doed for obsidian, so I gave it try and was like, "Why did I not know this?!". Had to expand the barn to fit the does with the anky and argen.
