Voxel maps
When it is possible to dig the earth as in Minecraft?
Very much it is not enough in ARK.

That would be awesome, but is probably impossible without completely changing the games engine. Never gonna happen.

Perhaps, not in the engine, a problem but in desire.
I do not believe that the voxel maps cannot be made on Unreal Engine 4.

Will never happen. The devs said so in an interview with sl1pg8r
It would be difficult as ♥♥♥♥. Since the ground is literally an inch thin, they would have to do a LOT of terraforming and make more textures. And then work on making every point in the map breakable. Which would cause more lag for us. It'll never happen

Would require scrapping the map and starting from scratch. Would add a ton of calculations (aka require a lot of processing power) when the game is already demanding as all hell. It won't happen, ever. The developers won't scrap the entire map framework to start from zero and code into the source of UE4 a proper voxel map system.

Technical reasons aside, why would I dig anyway? Get rocks? Metal? Crystal? Make caves? I've got all of that already. If I must dig for the sake of digging, I'd play MInecraft or heck... even Construction Simulator or something.

Why does every game need to be the same as every other game?

Seven days to Die has it. Its a cool game.

This. This right here really got me thinking. It isn't Minecraft, this is ARK. Plus, your first statement does make sense, as well.

7days to die is like minecraft with better graphics imo

OK. Good point. I'd play 7 days instead of Minecraft. :steamhappy:

Either way, I prefer unique, not same as. The grind in Ark is already palpable. To have to dig holes too.... Ugghhh.

In ARK for example there is no place to hide on PVP.
Also build from the ground and to find in it anything, it would be also interesting.

Empyrion - Galactic Survival (with Voxel Map)
- 256 Colours
- 4 MB Video Memory
- High Resolution 1024x768 Graphics
- Optimised for CRT Monitors and the Latest Pentium I Processors

Everything perfectly pulls, is made on UNITY5. and UE4 will not pull?
And would be what there to begin, would add the maps(the tool for work with the map) and all.
Here to you and second game. ARK(there some else).

Do you know how different Unity3D and UE4 are? Empyrion is lightweight, very lightweight. It's a bunch of standarized voxel map pre-made from the unity asset store. World processing, AI, calculations, rendering, the list goes on. Empyrion is on its bare bones, it's like comparing it to Space Engineers, whose volumetric voxel engine is made by their own dev team and it's way ahead of Unity's capabilities, not to mention the programming possibilities in it.

Also, no. It won't be a "tool to convert the map". They need to ERASE the map and start from ZERO. The map is already in X format, it cannot be converted to voxel. Read up a bit more on Unity3D, UE4, and voxel maps.

Voxel maps in ARK won't happen.
