Knocking out a Giga with cannon balls?

How the title says it, is it possible that you can knock out a Giganoto with the cannon balls that you shoot with the cannon? Or can you only knock it out with tranq arrows and darts?

Cannons are not the best for aiming at a target that can and will move around.
Unless it was trapped, I doubt you could hit it often enough to overcome its torpor regen.

Just have a few tribe mates trap it. Bring about 300 tranq arrows each just in case and shoot it a hella bunch times.

I usually see ppl knock it out with rocket launchers but it might be differenet depending on the lvl of the giga
