Chain Bolas
I can't figure out why they are in the game except for annoying enemies in PVP. They aren't usefull for taming big game, because land animals are out of the bola before you can get multiple tranq shots on them and Quetz are gone a few seconds after they hit the ground. And you can't keep them pinned, because of the cooldown timer they got for consequent bolas. And you don't carry a Balista with you "just in case you have to buy yourself a few seconds" when things are tend to get ugly. So, why do we have Chain bolas? Probably only fishmeat is more useless atm :)

Chain Bolas are useless for taming cuz they are catching quetzals or rexes just for 10-15 seconds..

more useful if you use tranq darts with a JM longneck or better, you can get it afew easy headshots without having to wait like you do with arrows.

they are nice in the no-fly prim server i play. chain bolas and bear traps make a great combo =P

yeah, but after that your tame is gone or is gnawing on your head...

i did try it on the quetzal maybe the 15 secounds starts from when there hit and not when they tuch the ground. i say that cuss i had that idea that i'd just fly find one then shoot it down then tame it, they only seemed to stay on the ground for 5secounds which never seem enough time to get more then one head shot off. only thing i think these are really intented to be used for it nocking a player flown quetzal or buying you a few secound by nocking a player off a stuned dino.

looks like if i want to tame a quetzel im going to have to find a new way the argents even at low level seem to have way more damage then they used to, and i really dontt like the idea that i have to force tame one

Same here, mate. I think I'm going with a few high lvl agries and some tribemates, oldskool style.

We nailed a very low level quetzzal (lvl10) and have a platform on its back with a BIG box.

You know where this is going.

Seriously devs you advertize the chain bola as a quetzal catching device and it only lasts 15 seconds.

For 10 of those seconds its falling out of the sky, Then add the cooldown to it and they are USELESS, I honestly can not think of a single situation where it would be useful say to annoy someone in PvP.

Hahaha, yeah, read your post. So apart from the argies the only way to tame is having it stuck in a wall or tame it with another Quetz :) No use in equiping Chain Bolas at least.

Yeah, not what I am used to from the ARK devs. I love almost all of the additions they put into the game.

I think the bola cooldown itself is dumb.

What they should add rope and is the ability to bind an animal/player once it's been bola'd, so you can take your sweet time. Or if it's already unconscious you should be able to bind it (ala handcuffs, I think, I've never used them).
