Turrets On Platform Saddles Removal
Correct me if I'm wrong anywhere...

2 days ago, devs said that they were making plant turrets consume fert per shot, and that they might make autoturrets unplacable on platform saddles if this didn't hit turret quetzs/dinos hard enough. Yesterday they said no plant turrets or autoturrets can be placed/grown on Quetz/Sauropods. Today, they basically say no plant turrets/autoturrets can be used on platform saddles of any kind.

I personally agree that a nerf was needed, but doesn't seem a little much? Doesn't it seem like the devs went from 0 to 100 in 3 days? I had been breeding paracers due to their value in warfare, it feels like this is just going to make gigas and pteras even more broken. Titanosaur bases are going to be pretty lackluster if we can't set up automated defenses for them...

Wouldn't something like a range and/or damage nerf to turrets on platform saddles have been more reasonable? Or maybe making them count as 5 structures each?

Plants were actually at a disadvantage already, once grown the plot and plant count as two structures.

The consumption of fertiliser was enough I think, that's already going to cripple them as far as Wild gigas go, I can't imagine there'll be enough fertiliser to take one of them down.

i can understand them removing it from quetzals 100%, but from the paracer and mosa come on, atleast we still have rocket mounted turret to use

I think limiting the number of automated turrets, combined with the fertilizer change, would have been more than enough, or at least a better state to see if more action is needed, instead of just removing them.

I've been waiting for this day for a long time. Mobile automatic targeting weapons is cancer in survival games. Perhaps we will see more skill when it comes to using quetz's as they will need to bring variety of dinos for an effective war strategy. Sick of seeing a single pilot ride around while a computer automatically aims and kills everyone in the area that doesn't have turrets or a flyer.

i dont agree with it being removed from everything, things like the quetzal make total sense, but theres not much going for the mosasuar with this removal, assualts on sea side bases but an auto turret in the base shuts down the rocket turrets you can place

Exhibit C, everyone that doesn't want to mess with the current state of automated turrets on quetz's use this as their only strategy in the game to gain alpha tribe status. Auto-Turrets can no longer be built on Quetz/Sauro/Mosa/Plesi/Paracer platforms (Plant turrets can't be grown on them). Any existing turrets on such platforms will no longer fire. This is a server option of "?OverrideStructurePlatformPrevention=true". Otherwise they're now only allowed on Rafts and non-moving Bases.

It just means you can't have bunch of automated raiding tool on the dinosaurs anymore. I'm pretty certain Minigun, Rocket, Ballista, Catapault turrets aren't effected by this patch, meaning you have to have more people contributing if you want to utilize these powerful siege/counter-siege tools. It'll not weaken anything if people play it right, but make more people contribute.

i HOPE that manned turrets will still be able to be place and used on platforms, imo they over nerfed they could have made a seperate limit for them and set it too 2 or 3 without completely changeing the quitz uses.
