Oh, and "scientific accuracy" in a game where people die and are cloned and placed back in the world? Where dinos and creatures from all kinds of eras wander around side by side? Where you can upload yourself and your creatures to a colossal Obelisk floating in the sky?
Stop nitpicking. It impresses no-one.
'Normally docile, the Manta Mobula is a carnivore only in that it consumes Plankton. Its tail is incredibly sharp, and can pierce through thick hide and armor with ease. Fortunately, Manta Mobula is usually not aggressive, unless encroached'
Its also classed as defensive in temperment.
As such it being agressive with out being proked is werid.
That was a Stingray, not a Manta. Different species.
Lots of creatures don't behave the way they said in the dossiers: Plesiosaurs attack everything you approach them with (said to only hunt fish and be indifferent to most creatures), Anglers are supposed to be skittish to anything larger than them (freely attack Mosas and Dunkles), Megalodons don't hunt or kill ANYTHING that is aquatic unless it's player-controlled (I really don't think I need to describe the problem with that), etc.. Hell, the ocean in general behaves NOTHING like the dossiers advertise it to be except for the Ichthys; even then, they have a funny quirk where they will attack wild land creatures that come into the ocean. It's not a question of scientific accuracy; it's an issue of things not working as expected/advertised.
Sorry dad
That joke went over your head, I think. :)
Also... why nag about mantas being agressive and not true to life while there's a freaking dragon in the game...
but you see, they're not working as intended, if you get up in their "space" they are supposed to freak and attack, instead they actively hunt you down
Exactly, they have an enormous aggro range and come actively looking for you to repeatedly lighteningly quickly and viciously attack you and your mount. That ain't right. If I swam into or attacked one and it stabbed me and swam off then that would make sense. Killer manta attack packs that mob you more viciously than any shark ever has, doesn't.
