Insane numbers

Playing on single player on the Center map I entered a cave that is only accessable with a raft. You could swim to it but you'd be overcome with snakes.

The second you exit drive mode your swarmed with snakes, spiders, centipedes and scorpions. I really mean swarmed by 30 to 40 of those buggers.

After my failed attempt I put myself into a semi-god mode and re-entered. They couldn't kill me but I couldn't move either. They climbed over their dead comrades to get to me and threw webs to trap me. Eventually I made a hole in their line and rushed through only to run into another wave further in. I hadn't even gotten close to the crystals, obsidian or metal. The first group joined the second. lol I went through over 200 flint arrows, dozens of stone picks and several metal picks. Then I ran out of materials to build any weapon. In the distance I could see another wave waiting for me.

Back when the map was just a mod I'd been in this cave before. There were only about 12 in each wave then. Not an easy task but not as insane as it is now.

So what now? How big a radius does C4 cover. Can you throw it and then expode it? Even with an automatic rifle you couldn't win. You couldn't carry enough bullets. What I need is a small nuke. There is a hole in the top of the cave that I found. If there was something I could drop to blow those suckers up.

Any ideas?

1. Put a storage chest full of rpg ammo at the top entrance you found. 2. Shoot. Over and over.

Spino or flyers. If a raft can make it into a cave other Dinos can. Where is it located?

And why are you using harvest tools as melee weapons???

lol. I only used harvest tools after using up all my other obtions.

I think it'd take an army of Dinos. Not sure that would work because the only access to land is up a narrow dirt ramp. They could only go one or two at a time. They'd get slaughtered before others could help. Flyers don't work in caves.

The cave is located along the northern coast, a bit past the river that goes to the ruins and short of the small Arch to the north.

I'll try granades as Daywalker suggested......if I ever find the blueprints for them. :)

So I raided it again, this time using three Trikes, Level 183, 136 and 110. We destroyed the first wave but lost the 136 and 110. I was hoping to sit there on my 183 until he healed up but a second wave came and I lost him. All the water snakes were dead so I made my escape by swimming.

you need to wipe all wild dinos with admin command, then it should respawn properly

Please give an update after trying this Old Codger, as I have been in that same cave and holy jebus is there tons of enemies in there. It'll be good know if they get reset.

That was the solution. Hit TAB and type destroywilddinos (no spaces)

Warning: You game may freeze a short time after you do this. With a wild dino in view, I entered the command and the dino vanished. I started to move around and my game froze.
When I restarted the game that wild Dino returned.

To solve that I used the command again only this time I exited the game before it could freeze. When I restarted the dino was still gone and the game didn't freeze.

There are still nasties in the cave but no where near the amount I experienced. I took two Trikes with me set to neutral and didn't lose any of them...yet. The cave is huge, branching off etc. Easy to get lost in.

You have to wait out the freeze, the game is busy repopulating the server. The way you did it may or may not screw things up.

found out about the air one accidentally, when i didnt realize cave flying was turned off on my server

kicked off bird, 100's of feet above the cave floor... hit my fast finger "oh crap" sequence (whistle follow all + parachute + eat) landed in a pile of spiders and snakes.

what followed was probably the most exciting half hour of my entire ark play time.

i accidentally the cave with over 150 stimulants and 200 shotgun shells... managed to get out alive with zero of both, badly battered flak armor, and a nearly broken pike

I have the same issue. I went just outside the entrance to the cave and I was swarmed with snakes, centipedes and spiders. I barely got out with my four dinos. There has to be a better fix than just wiping the wild dinos, I am pretty certain given a few more days and the cave will have the same problem once more. We shall see though. =/

it will have the same problem. spawns are broken for weeks now. we need to wait and wipe dinos. no other solution
