Keeping your inventory upon death
It's hard to find your body/bag after you die, so I there is some option/command so you keep your inventory after you die. Searched through the command guide but didn't find the command, so maybe someone could help me out here ? :D

No, there isn't. Welcome to the survival genre.

Your best bet would be to look for a mod that enables it.

Joans death helper/ Joans corpse finder is a mod that makes it easy to find and recover your things. Other than that there isn't much you can do.

It wouldn't be so bad if your body didn't go flying 100 meters from where you were killed.

Or just straight up fall through the map... Always fun when you're carrying all your important stuff to tame a giga...

That's why my MC and ASC gear is rotting in my vaults instead of being used. I'm too afraid to use them thanks to the bugs/glitches. So it's a lose-lose scenario for me. And probably for everyone else.

I wouldn't want to keep my inventory upon death as that's a bit extreme (ly wuss) but it WOULD be nice to have a server option to enable a death marker or something because right now, there are way too many times where your body can't be found, whether it be from a rock spawning over it or it going flying hundreds of yards with borked physics, or whatever.

If the game ever gets a little better at keeping your body or backpack there 100% of the time when you die, where you died, then such a thing wouldn't be necessary.

On the other hand, it is an alpha/early access, dookie is going to happen, and one shouldn't get so attached to data in any game, and especially not in a game in development where the devs could need to wipe it all with any given patch (pretty remarkable after all this time how little they've had to wipe stuff - it's saved tsunamis of tears from all the panty wadders out there who can't grasp the concept of early access or alpha).

a marker would be good enough indeed, downloaded the mod. lost my previous body and stuff without even dying (closed my self hosted server for the day, reopened it today and my inventory was empty and it said I had died.

Nothing wrong with corpse tuns in a survival game - the clue is in the name... SURVIVAL. Fair enough, enable a marker (I play on servers with the Joan mods) but some people play survival games expecting the game to hold their hand all the time. :D
