Admin Spectator Mode: First Person View
We need first person view with hud for spectating players with the specator admin command. I've been spectating someone I suspect of aimbotting/aim assist for the last 2 hours or so and there is no way to know 100% if he's actually cheating by having a third person view floating around the suspected player.

The way to implement it would simply by using the scroll in scroll out with middle mouse button.Just like you can do with normal play or maybe use the k letter too?

Why not just turn on Battle Eye and VAC

Of all the possible hacks someone could abuse in this game aimbotting would be quite possibly the least productive of them. Duping resources or having super HP regen are much more common and useful. An aimbot is 100% useless when fighting anyone who is obstructed by a mount or on a platform saddle with an enclosed rider. Plus you can practically aimbot by just having a paracer with auto turrets on it follow you around where ever you go lol.

His point is that due to the way Ark is coded it is almost impossible for someone to use hacks with those 2 systems in place. Battleye filters every packet sent/received by clients and ensures it is an authentic, non modified packet. Yes, there are ways around it still if you are a guru programmer but that is what VAC is for. Those 2 systems together make it so the script kiddies are far and few between on Ark.

Well i've seen people hacking before in Ark sure it's not as common as some other multiplayers fps games but it's still possible. Saying hacking is impossible on ark is probably as far from the truth as ti can be. Just google ark cheats for the last month or last week and there is usually a few around that some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ post on youtube. However the real cheats wont be posted there.

Imho I don't think its aimbot but esp that he uses as an aim assist. And this feature suggestion would help admins make more fair decisions don't you think?

you still wouldnt see the hack based on how ESP works, its client side not host side.

Yeah but I would see what the player is looking at. What he is aiming at. What kind of reaction he has between shots from his own point of view.

Currently all you see is a camera above the shoulders.

For instance, if the player is hiding in a bush, behind a building or behind any structure it's currently really hard to see what he is aiming at.

There is a first person view in Sotf why not add one for server admins in normal servers? If it can help get rid of more cheaters, dupers, exploiters, etc. That would be awesome.

I never said it was impossible. But again the number of people capable of actually pulling of undetected hacks on this game is very small and those who do will typically do a more useful hack like ESP as mentioned above. However ESP would require the client to request the server to send real time location data to it, the server would have to be fooled into thinking that client is allowed to receive those packets (usually by spoofing the admin password) and then transmit it to him. All of that has to be able to get past battleye which means it would need to be a new script that battleye hasnt identified yet as being malicious. All this brings me back to the point that I doubt you have a hacker on your hands. Check his profile, look at his game and see if hes VAC banned. You can usually spot a hacker because they will have very few games and very few hours on the games. Also check his friends and see if any of them are VAC banned as well.

If you are still in doubt then just leave it be. Dont ban someone who you cant prove is cheating. Some players are just very good shots with longnecks.

I'm not banning anyone unless I'm 100% sure they are cheating. All their tribe members got steam private profiles and ive checked if they had vac bans through the steam profiles site none of them had one but then I cannot see how many games they own nor how many hours they have playing this game.

Anyway all i'm asking is a simple addition to the spectator mode to help server admins to do a better job and be more efficient.

Go tweet the dev team. They rarely check posts like this on steam. There would need to be a huge outcry for them to get notice through the general chat.

I don't think we need twitter i'm pretty sure other server owner would support the idea of having fps view for spectator mode and reply to this thread.
