Dung Beetle Taming Tips
This weekend I'll be traveling to the Northern South cave near the swamps (where you can fly an Argent inside) to tame a dung beetle. I don't have much experience doing this so I checked out a bunch of YouTube vids and read through the forums and from what I can gather I should have the below ready:

-Wolf
-Cloth or leather armor
-Bug Repellent
-Pike
-Sleeping bag near entrance
-Large Poo
-Grappling Hook

Also, not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I tried flying my Argent in there to just grab one but the Argent kicked me off? I tried jumping back on it in the cave but it wouldn't me mount it until I got out of the cave? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you in advance for the advice/tips!

A ghillie suit would be best. Crouching and prone positions also make them less likely to detect you, compounded by the ghillie set

About the argent bit- they recently made it so you can't take flyers into caves, unless your on an unofficial where the admin has a special command that allows it.

Cool. I didn't bother with Ghillie suit because I figured the bats would just destroy it? Maybe I'm wrong though.

I have never had any issue with aggro ing them, you don't need a ghillie suit or bug repellant, flak or whatever is fine. Crouching is fine, go prone of you want. Just stay behind or to the side of them and just close enough to feed them. Use large poop. It's really not difficult to tame them. The only hard part is getting them out of the cave but grappling hooks made that a bit easier. Then just pick them up with an Argent and take it home.

Also just get the lowest level one you see, it'll make taming faster and you don't benefit much from higher level as all you want from them is weight capacity and they level up fast enough once you tame them.

Sounds good. I feel like wearing flak though will be very quickly destroyed by the bats. I guess that's where the wolf comes in.

A pike takes care of bats pretty easily as long as you're not rushing in and pulling them all at once. Start by picking them off one at a time with a crossbow, you should be able to kill one or two, then only a couple should come at a time. Put your back to a wall and pike away. They should barely hit you, if at all, before they're dead.
