How I solved the Center Map not loading...

I had the problem of the "Center" map showing, but then booting me back to the main menu on trying to load. After validation, reinstall, I had the same problem still, but fixed it like so :

* Go to the Ark page ***IN THE STEAM STORE*** (NOT in your library)
* Scroll down to "Downloadable Content for this game" and click on "The Center"
* On the next page, scroll down to "Free Download" and click.
* Now launch the game, try to go to "The Center" map.
* When it kicks you back to the main menu, exit the game.

There should now be a download of around 1.1gig starting - this is the Center.

Hope this helps somebody, I've been trying to get it to work since last night, and this is what finally worked for me.

Worked here, too... seems the problem is that the game MENTIONS the dlc, but did not include it, and doesn't say as much

Awesome. I didn't realize that I needed to manually install the DLC for downloading. It's downloading now. That honestly explains why ARK would freeze and I couldn't get into the game even though it was apparent I had downloaded all the mods for the particular server.

It was done as a DLC to make it an optional download for those who did not want a large download they didn't really plan to use. I can't believe people still don't know this.

Okay I had this EXACT same issue; though unlike the comments above, despite all my attempts none of Googles suggestions had helped.

When The Center was officially taken over - I deleted all my mods - downloaded the official The Center DLC - but I had a base and a game in-progress on Valhalla at that time; so I never clicked on and tried to load The Official Center til yesterday.

It crashed as mentioned in the original post - I was booted to the Main Screen over and over. I deleted my mods and reinstalled them. I tried to load and exit and load again. THEN it hit me.

HERES WHAT FIXED MINE:
I opened my Steam Client [not a browser page]
Goto LIBRARY and RIGHT CLICK on your ARK GAME
goto PROPERTIES then click the TAB CALLED DLC.
If that is NOT checked - check it - if it was like mine and it WAS CHECKED then UNCHECK IT - exit - LOAD ARK - you do NOT have to start a game session, exit out now -
GO BACK INTO THE STEAM CLIENT -
Right Click and get back into the Properties DLC Tab -
re click on The Center DLC and then again re-launch your ark game.

There should be around a 1.1GB The Center download and the mod will be named The Center in the mods folder.

If your game crashes when trying to join The Center map, go to your game Library in STEAM. (1)Click on Ark: Survival Evolved. (2)Scroll down to where you see DLC content installed and you should see The Center map. (3)Uncheck the box beside The Center. (4)Recheck the box beside The Center map. (5)You should now have a 1.5GB download in your queue for the game. (6)Let it install and you should be good to go.
