That the wild one that i found in my old base of offical hardcore i didnt login in time to save my 4 month of dinos. it ither spawned near hidden lake most likely in the river and was kitted down into my base. i also have had an alpha carno spawn on the ridge leading to carno island.

As long as your personal dinos aren't within agro range of gigas/alphas, stone gates/stone b.gates will be perfectly fine as wild dinos won't agro your structures without being agro'd to you or your dinos first :) 2nd of all, if you want to use xplants to defend against argents being kited in, I suggest building a tall tower & planting them up there. Tall enough to be out of range of ground dinos but not taller than the b.gates :) I can get paste from the dams in my base daily, the xplants don't reach the beavers :)

I don't know if he fell in or spawned there, by we had a giga there that ate all our brontos (that were parked outside our gates) when we logged in some day.
If its true or not i dont know i just know a gigga losse in hidden lake is like a kid in a ball pen, after i was helped to get rid of it by the friendly tribe i lost interest in playing but that happends when you lose 64 dinos most where just for eggs.
Next day who ever kitted it came back in to finish the job looted what they could air left out of the area.
I know acording to the wiki they can spawn in all in the north, i also have seen quite a few in the area west amd due south of hidden lake.
If it wasnt a place im attached to id move else where but that well wait tell after the update. now that im playing single player only.
Herbivore Island is as perfect as it gets, really. Metal nodes on the island for when you're first starting out, no carnos, plenty of room to build on either Peninsula that jut out without affecting any spawns and easy to build about 15 tiles out into/on top of the water before it drops off, and a nice big tank to keep all your water creatures.
