OVIRAPTORS EATING EGGS FROM FOOD BINS NOW....
so recently found out that oviraptors now eat eggs from food bins.. usually in primitive servers tribes use food bins to store eggs, we use for kibble,etc,.. since a preserving bin is too small to hold a normal amount of eggs depending on the size of the tribe not to mention that sparkpowder is a total grind...
so why are devs making this game more and more into a job? i understand that devs dont want to make the game too easy.. but does that mean they wanna make it a grind ? a job? a farm game? ... so now our tribe has to keep oviraptors away from our food bins.. we have 1000's of eggs well have to move as well....so one question... where do devs expect players to store eggs?????? preserving bins?? sparkpow needed?? i love this game , but sometimes i lose faith in what the devs are turning this game into...

anyways, my tribe has been moving eggs and ovis so that ovis wont reach eggs..ill let that go since no one seems to understand my point......now that aside, is there anything devs can do to store eggs in primitive servers atleast?? something the ovis and other dinos wont eat out of???

Hi Motley, since oviraptors were added in the 226.0 build, they have eaten eggs out of troughs so this isn't something that is new or changed. In regards to sparkpowder duration and food/water drain, these have not been altered. Consumables are not intended to be stored in feeding troughs so players should not rely on them for long term storage.

Seems people keep skipping the devs response here....

Not new at all...

What happened if you didn't notice before it's because you had regular meat for them to eat so they never got hungry enough to eat the eggs.

Sounds like you guys forgot to top off your meat supply. Or they weren't in range of the regular troughs to eat meat.
Maybe an alternative would be to tame a hundred dodos and put tons of dodo eggs in the bin. So it eats those first, instead of the important eggs.
My question is this. Why do you have or are you breeding Oviraptors? Get rid of them and every other useless dinosaur your are probably breeding. Your first post you make the claim they are turning the game into a farm simulator when you seem intent on being Noah and saving every species of dinosaur from an impending flood. Seriously, breed viable dinosaurs and get rid of everything else.

Eggs are kept for kibble, that's why you keep eggs. Dinos don't just lay eggs when they are bred.

lol ... we are not breeding oviraptors.. but since they help the process of dinos droping eggs, we kep oviraptors close to the dinos in our egg farm....and obviously we used food bins to store eggs we farm since its more efficient when it comes to space.. almost like how players use smithys instead of lrg storage boxes...

it seemed new since we kind of just found out. because a tribe mate emptied a food box and started to put eggs in it and they was disappearing, but im not sure if he had another food bin full of food, so are the ovis choosing eggs over meat or berries?? and as to food and water being drained , has the temperatures changed? something that would make these drain faster? the entire server im on seemed to be agreeing with how that semed to be a new thing...

thank you panda, and i see what u mean about consumables and feeding troughs not being intended for storage, but can something be done to store eggs atleast? something the dinos will not eat from?im on a primitive server btw , just seems like storing a bunch of eggs on tech servers isnt a issue

You are asking for different storage containers rather than using the ones that have already been put into the game.....we understand your point, but you don't want to understand ours.

You are putting eggs into FOOD TROUGHS and are complaining that the oviraptors are EATING OUT OF THEM......in other words you are putting the food that oviraptors eat into a bin designed to have dinosaurs get food from......Oviraptors have done this since they were first put into the game. I can confirm this since I literally had a trough full of dodo eggs that I had them eating...

You do know that if you cannot expand outward you can indeed build a small two story tower inside your pen that you put the trough on top and put the eggs into.... If that is by any means grindy then idk what to tell you dude.

They will eat meat first because it gives less food value so as soon as they drop they will eat a piece of raw, now if there is no meat they will wait till hungry enough then eat eggs to fill up.

Your tribe mate didn't have any meat for them while transferring eggs to the trough.

Knowing the weight of eggs it could have been quite a while he was there also breaking stasis they will get hungry faster.
well thanks everyone for commenting , this is something my tribe will be ok with we just have to move a lot and its an inconvenience but can be done... i just hope that devs add something to store eggs

Making spark powder on a primative server is difficult?
Or just put the eggs on dinos.
