[HELP] Finding Dead Body!

Hi everyone.

Last night I was on my server and built a towerbase. I logged off without any issues as I've always done (I'm level 64 or so now). This afternoon when I logged back in I am immediately taken to the spawn screen and I'm told I Died. I don't know how that is possible as I've logged off plenty of times in the past without issue and I don't log off in the middle of nowhere where I may get attacked by a dino. Now I don't recall exactly where I was when I logged off so I can't find my body or loot. I was either in my tower, just outside, or down on the beach at my raft. I did look in those places but found nothing.

Anyhow, if there is a command or way to find out where my character or its body/loot was last located that would be great. Please let me know.

Oh and just to be as informative as possible this happened on my own private/dedicated server that I play on so I do have admin access if need be to retrieve my corpse.

Oh, so you DO just lie around, unconscious, in the open sometimes then...

Nope, sounds like your body is gone. The bodies only last a very short while, assuming you don't get eaten by a carnivore and get no corpse left at all. The amount of in-game time that passed while you were logged out means it won't be there any more. Just console cheat your stuff back if you have admin access. No big deal, really.

Damn I hope not, but I'm sure I was in my tower when I logged off. Here is a question though. My tamed pet was at my boat when I respawned, do pets return to the closest player owned structure when the player dies? That is the only thing I'm finding weird. My Pet was by the raft on the beach but as I was building the final level of my tower and once finished I went to bed so I am 99% sure I logged off at my tower with my pet just outside.

Is there a way to import players into a server? I'm wondering if I can just export my character before he died (prev save) then import him in with all his equipment after he died (last save file).

No, they just stand there until you go get them.

OK so that is weird. My pet was on my raft like I place him when I'm ready to move somewhere else, yet I wasn't leaving as I had just finished building my tower, and now had to furnish the inside which I was going to do today. So, I'm not sure how my pet got back to the raft and was placed on it exactly how I place them before casting off.

the other strange thing is that I looked in the Tribe Manager and noticed it gives you a lot of info. for example there are listings that says I was killed by a Rex, a Sarco, etc... in the past. Each time a member of the tribe dies it places a red line of text stating Draugr was killed by a Srco (for example). When I look at the latest info it says Draugr was killed and then nothing. Nothing as in was killed by a Sarco, etc... I wonder if it was like Kepano said and my character fell through the floor/world. :(

I have an idea to fix it by loading a previous save from just before I died, then exporting my character then reloading the server with the latest save (with my tower completed) and uploading my character back to the server with all the items I had before I died. I just have to figure out how to get that done. Let me go do some research. :)

If, maybe, you were on the beach, a sarco may have gotten you. If the dino was neutral or agressive, it would explain why it was by the boat. Or, seeing what you just posted, you may have drowned.

So, this just happened to me now but I'm on a singleplayer world and I am positive that I logged off on the platform were I keep my smithy and refining forge, but I can't find my body anywere. :( I even clipped under the ground and looked for it but I still cant find it.

In case of finding your dead body, there is a mod designed to do just that (I had the issue on Aberration recently, which is how I found the mod):

I understand this is old but the post asks for a command and no command was given so here it is:

GetAllState DeathItemCache_C
TeleportToActorLocation DeathItemCache_PlayerDeath_C_X

Replace X with player death cache number in console.
