How do i turn on the building mode in single player

There is a building mode that i have seen where your f keys give you a limited selection of blocks to build with. Does anyone know how to turn this on or show the menu for it.

Sounds like a mod. I only did a quick search, but couldn't find anything that fits your description. If it is a mod, you'll need to (download and) install the mod and then enable it for your Singleplayer server.

In singleplayer you can also turn on cheats, spawn in a bunch of building materials, and build to your heart's content. This does not involve installing any 3d party mods.

There used to be a build mode, but it got removed... there is an admin command mod that I think does it now. Or use console commands

imo ark needs a building overhaul. its lackluster at the moment. like why make a button toggable if when i place something it toggles off. i would love to place more then one wall without hitting 3 and D everytime. you should get the mod acm it will make it easy to spawn things in without codes and it has other tools. also has mod support commands

Ya i use the admin commands pretty frequently i just wanted some basic stuff like thatch wood and stone structures peices. Even with infinitestats and god mode on the inventory weight gets to be a bit annoying, ive been spawning 100 of each structure at a time but id like to have all types available without having to respawn specific ones as i need.

yes i would def like to see blocks clip into terrain better as well, i also agree with the issue on toggling the blocks on and off, that would make building alot easier.

you can edit the points per level for weight like instead of 10 points of weight per level ,you can make it 40 points per level if you need more weight. on my singleplayer i put it so i level up like 5000 times lol havent had that problem since

I do not ever remember there being a build mode and I have played this game since about 2 weeks after release. What you might have been seeing is someone using a macro utility to bind Ark console commands to F keys to generate building materials. I am pretty sure that kind of utility will now get flagged by one of the anti-cheat utilities but they were probably being used heavily before Ark implemented VAC and Battle eye.

That sucks for people trying to start servers late, im planning on building a city for myself and players starting before inviting people on my server. But i believe Neverending Hell helped me with my issue his suggestion was great.

What you're thinking of is likely "setcheatplayer true", but that is not really a building mode.
