Rust or Ark?

I'm gonna buy just one. Please tell why. I asked same question in Rust forum. Want to hear both sides.

Just adding my 2 cents about Ark pvp as a semi-casual player. It seems this is your goal based on games chosen.

PvP in Ark is almost nonexistant. It's boring, very unbalanced and more a Tower defence. Good moments are 1 in a 1000. PowerCreep is real here and it was never good for PvP.

Explanation:
If you're not on top, grind to fun ratio is horrible.
If you're in the Alpha tribe -- it's even worse. You can ROFLStomp whoever you dislike, nothing about PvP here. Once we wiped every tribe on a server before leaving. Just because we could, then gave away all our dinos as compensation. And there were no restriclion made by us, we only had more active players than others and grinded faster.

Several times we started on official HC and were wiped on next day by alpha tribes, which probably did a scheduled cleanup from new tribes, as our closest neighbours we had a peace-treaty with were destroyed just after. No talking, no ability to fight back.

Ok, I found a good comparison while I was typing: PvP here feels like in browser RPGs. Sure, you'll need skill, but only if:
1. You are in a battle with the tribe which is online
2. Your strength is equal to enemy strength.

As you can guess, this never happens. Any half-competent person would attack an equal enemy while he's offline to avoid possible coinflips.
And when Strength differs, it's a browser RPG.

But Ark has dinos and survival and that's why I play it. For balanced pvp i'd suggest another game.

good moments are one ina thousand.... I call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.... they have cannons used as seiges now that you can mount to MOVEABLE platform dinos and you can be mobile and seige......pvp is good on ANY game when everyone STARTS THE GAME AT THE SAME TIME..... but how often does that happen??? If you play one of the LARGER MODDED MAPS.... such as central or Vahalla no one finds your base... so this is false.... Tea and coffee gamers.com is the server I play on and we will be starting a new map with newer players soon.... so yea.... everyone will have a good start on a HUGE map so you will hardly get raided if you are smart about where you place your base! Or you can play Rust.... small playbase with players that are all or most already at endgame content..... ARK LOOKS AMAZING..... rust doesn't even compare....... PEACE OUT!!!!

In my opinion, this is like asking whether Pokemon or yugioh is better. Same concept, but there's a huge different between the two. You would have to try them both out.

On ARK, you can just tame a Pteranodon and if you have FOV on highest, you fly up into the air, look down and around, and trees will disappear so you will see all the bases etc. total game breaker. Also, the saving lag, oh my god, the more I go on, the more I realize that it's not even a game yet. Go for Rust.

Yugioh is old lol. Came out around the same time the first pokemon episode did I think. Either in the late 90's or early 2000's

it comes down to this

Your PCs hardware is lacking - Rust

Your PC is decent i.e 8-16GB RAM/Quad Core CPU/GTX 960 or better/equiv or AMD equiv/better - ARK

It all comes down to hardware when choosing which to get.
If your PC doesnt meet or nearly meet the above specs, dont bother with ARK.

I already was an adult at the time...
