Arthropleura Thoughts?
Now that we got both our first big tamable arthropod in awhile and have some chances to use them, what's your thoughts on the "gigapede"? This creature had some interesting thoughts riding on it, given that it's the first rideable animal with a projectile attack. So was it good? Underwhelming? What did you like and what did you think could have done better?

My thoughts?

Likes
-I love that the acid spit does massive damage to armor. We really needed some anti-armor killer and while lining up the shot is difficult, it is worth it. My arthro guard dog on the PvP server I frequent completely destroyed a raider who C4'd through my wall in full riot gear and got overconfident.

-The look for the centipede is pretty good. I like the varied color palatte and that some of the Arthro color schemes are very shiny and nice to look at.

-I feel the size for the athro was just right. Big enough to match the threat level and not being drastically stronger than something of its size would be (Direbear), but not hugely oversized (Giga).

-It can also envenomate and knock people out by meleeing them like a scorpion

-While it does lose stamina while doing it, fact it lacks oxygen means its a great ATV to get across water and land alike.

Dislikes
-Another flippin' passive tame. This wouldn't be as big a deal if its aggro range, even with bug repelant, wasn't so big and if it could be found outside the caves.

-It is too big to fit through multiple cave entrances and gets stuck trying to leave. I only managed to get mine out because of a freak glitch teleported me to the forest.

-Can't breed it so every one you get has to be a tame.

-No crosshairs on the spit means trying to aim it while riding is very diffcult to all but very large targets. AI targeting is much better. The spit also does only marginal damage to flesh meaning its not very useful against animals.

What I think could use a tweak
-Some sort of crosshair feature while riding so the spit can be aimed.

-Maybe make the spit also damage saddles, though not to the same degree as it does armor. This can make an Arthro more valuble in PVP since it can effectively demount someone with enough time.

-Little faster swim speed.

-Fix the cave problem so you can more easily get them out of the caves you tamed them in and allow them to breed.

-Hitbox tweak so it can most easily attack what is right behind the head as fighting is a bit wonky with it.

These are all great suggestions, and would adress plenty of problems. I found it odd that it had no gender.

Agree on the spit aiming, right now its basically horrible to try and hit anything with the spit from the messed up aiming...it needs fixed badly or the spit is only good for things right in front of the mount. We should be able to go first person while on this mount, then the spit should aim at the center of our screen where we look, the mounts head turning with ours. And a mount this long should carry multiple riders.

But this that's pretty much what it does, go in first person and as long as you ur arthro is pointing towards the enemy you can fine tune the aim. It goes straight where you point your view in first person and then has a bit of drop depending on distance.
