Direbear taming...

Right tried to tame my 1st direbear lvl 71 female checked crumple corn and online and it said they eat both berries and meat so was like cool i have more berries than meat il use that and within seconds the taming effect shoots from 99.9 to 6.2 and ends up at 0.0.

Anyway idea what happened?? or has something been changed and now they only eat meat for taming??

They will eat berries, but meat is most preferred, you gave it it's least preferred food, it's pretty much the same as giving a dung beetle spoiled meat instead of crap.

Yeah the taming effectiveness will always go down if you aren't using their prefered foods.

the effect drops every time the unconcious dino eats by himself. and with berries, he has to eat a lot more than with meat so probably that´s why.

Pretty much this. Regular meat is the more effective way to tame a direbear if you can't tame it with kibble or prime meat.

That's because tamed animals don't eat the preferred food anymore and will always eat the less preferred food. If anything this is good as it ensures that DIrebears can have a ready supply of meat to eat to heal up and can use berries to satiate it's hunger.

As mentioned, effectiveness decreases with each bite. And bears be devourin berries like there's no tomorrow

You shouldn't try it with berries, as their affinity is horrible. The taming calculator you are using hasn't been updated with the latest data it seems. You can also try www.survive-ark.com/taming-calculator as that one is updated.
