Medical Brew vs Custom Consumables
Is there any advantage to making stock Medical Brew from Red berries and narcs?
I can make a MindWipe/Focal boosted custom consumable for seemingly better stats without using narcs.

consumables seem to take longer ot heal. Plus you can only stack them to 20. I use both.

yeah custom consumables are great for normal use to fill hunger and slowly heal from fall damage or when the danger has passed and you are safe, but they wont keep you alive in a battle such as a cave run thats when medical brew is great.

Whatever you have too much of, or can easily get a lot of, in the pot. You can calculate out food values and stuff, but it basically comes to, you'll get more food value out the more you put in, with no magic combination that gets a better return.

I'd say a bunch of yellow or blue berries, since there isn't much other use for them besides dyes and feeding troughs.
Or raw meat, cause, you can get so much of it on a hunt.

The other advantage, is that your health won't refill once your food fills if you're using Custom food. The Brews will heal you regardless.

mods work better for healing tools that don't rot (healing brews shouldn't but do spoil...)

Eggs and meat provide much stronger +health than berries.

I think I'm going to experiment with this today, but custom consumables might be able to exceed medical brew if you cram tons of mats into a single unit. For example if you make some food that heals 50 health over X seconds (not sure how long it is), it's not going to be as good because you can spam brews (1 per second?). However, if you make food that heals 500 health, the per second heal might be better. The downside is the mats and the weight because the weight of the mats you use impacts the weight of the finished consumable.

I don' t think you can control the seconds it takes to apply the buff. I have one that heals 1000 hp but it takes it at least a couple minutes to do that.

Ah, didn't realize that.
