Sorry if this has been done already.
I play on vanilla PVE…

After taming my first Dire Bear a lvl 64 male that tamed out at lvl 93, first impressions I was pleasantly surprised by how useful the Bear is as I didn’t expect much.
Its base stats were not too impressive but after 45minutes of roaming around killing everything in sight I had it up to lvl 101 and the stats were looking a lot better and the beast felt more tanky and powerful.

The speed of the mount makes traversing the island easy work, once it gets going it has to be up there with the fastest mounts in the game and the stamina drain isn’t too shabby either.
I will definitely be looking for a higher lvl one as I have been so impressed with early days of a good tame on a mid lvl, I’m excited to see what a pack of high lvls can do.
Perhaps the best and most surprising strong point of the bear would be its ability to farm meat and fibre at the same time. As far as I can tell it’s currently the most efficient way of collecting fibre. While meat collection is boosted as the bear never actually eats any of the meat and just munches through the berries at an alarming rate, which is a blessing as carry weight is kept to a minimum.

Overall a really well thoughtout, balanced and useful tame.
Great addition to the game and an essential tame for early mid and late game players.
If you haven’t already tamed yourself a Bear I highly recommend.

ShortFacedBears (Direbears) are an amazing species, I was not expecting much with the direbear, I wasn't as excited for it... But now I have one named winnie and I painted him, he is amazing with amazing stats.

I am also suprised that they got a 'C' Movement, which is the standing up position. The ptero and direbear are the only ones with c attacks right now :o

i LOVE the direbear not only does he eat everything so he wont starve he is also fast and strong and above all really cute (especialy when you paint em to look like pandas :3)

I have 4 bears, one of which is lvl 162 and it's like a war machine - killing things has never been so easy. I head out with them, together with my 4 Beavers, and one short run later I have vast amounts of meat, berries, pelt, wood, etc. I have dinos that never leave my compound now because the Bears and Beavers are so fantastic.

Interesting... I didn't know they had the standing motion by pressing c! What purpose does it serve... Does it perform an attack or ur it just an intimidation stance?

I usually colour the saddles to go with the colour of dino. Although I was impressed with your winnie paint job!

Thank you :P it took alot of time due to the fur painting.. Very glitchy.. I dyed the saddle but yellow doesn't show up that well, it looks brown

There is something extremely satisfying about running with the bear. The fiber is nice too. I expected nothing out of the bear, turns out its one of my favorite tames in the game. Well played WC!

the speed and turning is insanely overpowered lol

flew around a hour and a half before I found a 108. fell in my taming pen (lag spike :P) and it killed me twice and escaped once before I got my stuff back and starting taming it. almost killed it trying to get it down. but once it tamed, I was very impressed with it's speed and ability to murder things.
