Petition To Stop Dino's Head From Following and Tail Swaying
I have started a petition that calls attention to an issue that is both annoying and frustrating to many players. I'm talking about dinosaur heads looking at a survivor when they are near. This is entirely frustrating when trying to ride other dinos near larger dinos such as a Quetzal and the Rex.

I am petitioning to have the Devs take this issue into consideration and to make a whistle that will command dinos to not look at survivors. Now, of course, this only applies when a dino ISN'T being ridden, and is just freely sitting in place. I also want this command, or another one, to stop the obnoxious tail swaying of some dinos. One example is the Pachy. Is near impossible to grab an egg from behind as the tail knocks you back and fourth, rubberbanding you all over.

So please let you voices be heard and sign this petition. Hopefully with this act, the Devs will take notice and listen to the community.

Thank you.

I think dinosaurs looking at others out of their own free will is an awesome feature, Removing it will kill some of the little immersion of the game (not that ark has much immersion lol)

I'm not asking to remove it completely, just a whistle command to tell a dino to not look.

While I agree 100% with what you ask and would LOVE to have that command I'm not really sure that a petition is the best way to go about it ?

But @Devs if you ever read this post I agree with the op about the command to forbid tail swipe and head follow, it's pretty anoying.

It's not removing it, it's having a comlmand to tell your dino to freeze, you can then unfreeze them once you're done walking around them etc.

Also dinos don't look at each other they follow the player with their heads and often push you around by doing so just like with their tails and it's SOOO annoying.

A petition may not be the best way, but it's a good way to collect the opinions wanting this idea from other websites and forums. This way, we can all share our idea in one place.

I agree on the rubber-banding from tails in regards to the Pachy which should not be powerful enough to do that. An Ankylo however should be able to as it is massive.

it's not rubber banding as it happens also in SP, and it's not about realistic strenght allowing the dino to push the player around with it's tail/head, it's not about removing existing features at all.

It's adding a new whistle or command on the wheel that allows the player to ask it's dino to freeze any movement (tail/head) It would even be ok if the command had a timer and didn't last more than 30 seconds or so it's just to be able to walk around them or transfer items from your dino to a chest without having your dino push you out of range with it's head.

Well I would too but it's true that without those movements they would look pretty unrealistic, like statues so I think many people would be unhappy with that change.

Love the idea. I quite like the immersive factor of the head and tail sway, but at the same time it's extremely annoying when you're trying to get things done and can't because the heads and tails keep getting in your way. A whistle to tell them to stop - even if it's a timed whistle, like stopping for 30 seconds or something like Jeza suggested above - would make it much easier to get some work done.

Of course, we still have to deal with following dinos getting their heads stuck inside ridden dinos and bringing everything to a screeching halt. If they haven't bothered to fix that yet...

what about a server property that can be added to config files that turns it off completely?

EDIT: "

" also we could have a follow distance property as well. that can be changed with admin/server commands to keep following dinos slightly further away

oops I completely missed that part. Yes I agree a command would be a nifty feature.

Use crouch when "working"around your animals, give them a little space and you'll be amazed how much easier it becomes.

But sure, if you want it as an *option*, I don't care. For mine, while they act like animals I treat them like animals and we get along just fine.
