Bears eat all the berries.
i noticed that my bear eats a lot of berries when runing, i tho this would be normal just when runing, but i now have 2 bears, and i put a lot of berries in a trough, is empty in abour an hour it have just meat now, if i put more berries, they start to drop down super fast, is this a bug? or is intended?

define "a lot of berries in a trough". 20 stacks? 20 berries? A lot means vastly different things to people with beetles and farms and those who are brand new, walking the island, picking berries by hand while trying to not get eaten by a few compies or a scorpion.

normaly a dino eats 2 or 3 berries from time to time, i dont know how much time passes betwen they eating. the bears just keep eating like 2 berries per second or something like that.

Nah, it's like 1 berry every second or so when sprinting and considering how fast bears can run if they sprint for a long enough time, I'm not surprised by this. That's still quite alot of berries gobbled up but it's not a big deal since bears can eat both meat and berries. I usually just reserve the meat for healing up wounds from battle and have a few stacks of berries for the bear to eat normally. They certainly got the weight to allow for that.

I don't typically deal with our herbivores (we don't have a lot of them, maybe 20ish), but at least once a day they eat a full stack or more. The bigger dinos tend to eat more than the smaller ones, even just idling. The rexes are pigs, the dimorphs eat maybe a piece or meat or 2 every rl day (for comparison). Bears are big, I'd wager they eat like mammoths.

Also, dinos tend to lose hunger (and thus have to eat) a lot faster when recovering health or stamina. Perhaps they're just not fully healed and full of stamina.

They run fast they berries with sugar for energy.... Ummm are berries scarce where you are?

no they are not i can get a lot of berries, what im trying to say, is that they dont stop eating, never, 2 berries a second even standing still, so i thing this will deplete berries soon.

Ok. that might be excessive. Sorry for doubting, I don't think I've seen one of our herbivores polish off 204 in one sitting...

Yah, they eat berries very, very quickly. I can't imagine that this was intended.

um i feed my dire bear raw meat and it does just fine why are you guys using berries? even tamed with prime meat no berries used at all.

the berries r a nice food to have since they r easy to get and dont have much effect other than just food, meat on the other hand can be used to heal canivors that are injured, so if u are able to, u would save the meat for emergences and use berries as a primary food source, but that is were the problem of them eating alot is coming from
