Any way to turn off christmas event ?
hello, the raptor santa appeared and after getting first few drops i can see that its going to ruin out small server with items that are completly OP, after few weeks of red cave drops i got a 400% simple pistol blueprint, santa gave me a 550% on his frist drop, also a 400 armor ghillie hood. Is there any way to turn off those items or - will lowering out drop quality (on server) make it better ?

Sounds like you have OP server settings to begin with

low the lootdrop setting in your .ini file, should make raptorclaus items lower in quality, since the present drops are actually supply drops (same basic system, just different graphic).

Ok so i checked the console and we are actually running x2 loot quality, still another 424 simple pistol blueprint, guess we will have to bring it down to 1 untill this damn event is over.

If you have in your command line ActiveEvent=None it should turn off "ARKmass"

Could you please elaborate a bit ? I dont see any line like this in the ini file, or i should look somewhere else ?

the ARK command line isnt in the ini files, but you could put that in the gameusersettings.ini and see if that works. For singleplayer the command line is actually accesed in the properties from your steam library, however different server hosts have different levels of access to the server command lines. I would look through your server management page for mention of a command line or see their help page. If you still cannot find it than opening a ticket about access to the commandline to turn off the event may be required

Uses the ActiveEvent system:

ActiveEvent=WinterWonderland
Run with ActiveEvent=None to disable

This is from the latest community crunch, try the -ActiveEvent=None command for the server launch options.

ok so im not blaming just putting for somebody else to see - do not put it in the .ini file - it caused our server to go full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mode and we had to roll it back eventualy.
Sadly we also used command and no effect, not sure if we did everything properly tho

If you are using ARK Server Manager, go to the bottom of the Administrative tab in the Command Line block, and enter "-ActiveEvent=None" in the section titled "Server Args:".

If you are running ARK yourself, place "-ActiveEvent=None" somewhere towards the end of wherever you launch ARK from. I use a batch file, and placed the switch right before the "-UseBattlEye" switch.

Do not include the quotes around "-ActiveEvent=None"

Try listening to the the Constant Ho! Ho! Ho! while placing pillars under water, and in the dark. How can they just assume that everyone who plays ARK will be fine with a Christmas theme?

Sigh.

I'm sure that they did this knowing not everyone wants to celebrate Christmas, but turning the event off comes down the the server owners.

I, for one, welcome the devs actually making some effort after the disaster that was the early barely-tested extinction release. Hell, even last night I ran into a new issue when I completed an element vein but got disconnected. After logging back in, all the spires except the big middle spire was there to be mined. You know, the one that you actually want to have there to farm element with?
