Does starve taming work?
If so, how does it improve taming? In the end it doesn't really cut down on time if you count in the time your starved your tame it adds up to the same, right?

Not completely useless. You can easily got tons of prime meat in one killing, but you'd have to keep going back and forth to keep resupplying the prime meat as they decay too fast. Similar with mutton, you can kill a sheep, but the mutton would last for only about 30 minutes inside the dino...and not all dinos are tamed within 30 minutes through mutton.

Yes.. it’s just useful if you are taming in the wild and your tame is at risk of being attacked

Starve taming is best used if you're taming the dino with food that will spoil before finishing the tame. They also keep their food if they wake up as well, this is handy if the dino got attacked and lost taming effectiveness (even if you didn't feed it).

It takes away the risk of you losing taming efficiency due to the tame taking some random unexepected damage.

As I've stated before, this part is actually not true. They can still lose taming effectiveness...even if not fed. You can still have them wake up to reset their taming effectiveness and they'd still keep their current food number though.

That wasn't my case though. I've KO'd an argy and left for a bit, then I came back, only to find it being nom'd by allos. The argy survived and wasn't fed. But when I fed the argy, it was down to 5% taming effeciency .

Ive had downed dinos take damage and still end up 100% tamed?
You mean they still tamed at 100% affinity?.... coz on vanilla rates... you cant get 100% taming effectiveness.

Hmmm you learn very quickly NOT put kibble or food on all dino being tamed. You lean fast how to use a tame calculator to time the tame and only out the taming food on when its ready and be a super fast tame. But starving does not make stats better it only protects you from wasting taming foods incase a downed tame gets hit!
