I shared the photo, so I guess if you click on my profile and go to my screenshots you will be able to see it.
So, I killed and dragged to her like 3 Parasaurses (tamed), one Argi(wild) , 1 Carno (wild) . After I asked the question on the discussion board, I decided to experiment and killed my tamed Rex . She ate him and she did eat all of the above mentioned dinos, but the blue rectangle did not appear. So, I read some posts which suggested that this creature will eat if you set it free. I did and she ate a Wooly rhino I dragged. After that the blue rectangle over her head appeared, but she started chasing me and tried to eat me lol. I survived.
So, it seems that there is a trap glitch. The posts that I read were on Reddit and players had the same issue; this creature did not sniff or eat while in the trap.
My drag capacity is low. I was barely able to drag a low level tamed dino that I fed her. So, I cannot drag Rex to her ( I have a couple to spare).
Then finally it accepted a high level Tek Rex. It was hard to figure out if there was some kind of trick to it. Seemed to help if it couldn't get stuck on something like a boulder. Going away for a minute out of render distance and coming back maybe helped reset its attitude. A few times we just ran around to get its attention or even punched it. Often when it seemed mad was when it seemed most likely to sniff as soon as we starting dragging a nearby corpse. But in those instances, it didn't seem to want to eat it, even though it would kind of check it out.
it also killed me a few times, ignored me most of the time, but every once in a while it would eat what I dragged in front of it. The Rex was enough to fill its bar so I could ride it.
Yea...It seems that they need to patch it or something . It odes not seem to work as it should.
I will attempt again without a trap. Hopefully I won't die lol I think what saved me was the high level metal pants I found in one of the drops. They broke, but I survived.
I think that drugging dinos option is glitchy too while one tries to tame. I was not able to drug any dino for a second. I do not think that I will be able to drug Rex though. My weight capacity is only 477 . I am playing this game on a single player and it's my first time. I did not put enough stats into weight. I do not think that I can carry high level dinos as well due to my low weight capacity.
I was surprised to read that it ate the Tek Rex. I have 2 Tek Stegos that I don't really use, but I doubt that I will be able to drug them.
If you drag the body out of its line of sight, that seems to reset its attitude so you can try again.
It seems to work best to not let go of the animal that you're dragging.
There might be an aspect to it that you have to keep eye contact or be looking in its direction.
I had the same problem but I found an alternative solution: after clearing the area where I put the rock cage or anything that could impede its movement, I decrypted the baby Yuti and T-Rex, (they had cryo nausea), I abandoned them and then killed them. Then I scattered the corpses around the cage, went out of sight of the Carcharodontosaurus, came back and its bar was complete (green). All I have to do is mount it and hunt a few dinos and I'm done!
Good luck !
Carcha taming made me finally break down and just install immersive taming mod. I tamed them using the methods in the mod.
Did that too, that had no effect. I left gaps so big the carcha actually fit through one of them.
I tamed a lvl 150 Carcharodontosaurus on the smaller volcano island on The Center and that is what I did:
I killed the groups of Sabertooth, Argentavis, Raptor and other dinos who fought each other and I dragged them to the Carchar one by one.
I carefully approached him and after he sniff i let go and run quickly in the other direction out of the zone in which he will notice you.
The bar appeared and i could fed him over and over this way.
The problem is that the Carchar must come to the offering dino, so each corpse must be at some distance to the next and other dinos want to eat the corpse but hey, you can kill them too.
Note that you have to be fast because the bar decrases and that was my biggest problem even if I tamed it without a cage.
Did the Carchardontosaurus noticed me a few times? - yes. (5 times and I had to restart from 0%)
Was it difficult to get corpses without the use of a cryopod? - yes.
Is completely ****** that you have to PASSIVE tame a carnivore that dangerous?
- Absolutely Yes.
But It is not bugged and it is possible to tame it.
