Game always downloading workshop content. ( none subscribed )
As title states.

Currently cannot join a friends server due to mod's being newer than server's version.
Yet this is a fresh install as haven't played for a few months I've deleted the mods folder and a numbered folder which other guides have told me. Ive also check my subscriptions on workshop ( empty )

the game is always trying to download workshop content when it gets to the scheduled time it says 0/0 bytes and never downloads anything.

Any help would be great. i know description is brief but didn't know what info to provide.

Cheers

Go to the workshop and check your subscribed mods. If you tried to join a server with mods you definitely downloaded some.
there's nothing there fella i said that.
still isnt anything even if i try to join another server they just dont download and game tells me im using a newer version than the server which im not due to having no mods.

and 24/7 i have a 0/0bytes download from ARK workshop content that schedules it self every hour then never downloads anything

bump
An update came recently. It's not that you subscribed to anything, the just messed with something that deals with mods weather you have them or not. Sorry but your buddy has to update the server.
its every server that runs mods not just his
Something tells me this happens if your mate is running a mod that no longer exists in the Workshop. Might be something to check.
your not reading the comments.

Its ANY modded server.

:)

And I'm suggesting that those servers might *also* be running the same discontinued (read popular?) mod. Someone else is reporting same issues.

99% of the time, its not the client (you) who is having the mod issues. Its the server running out of date versions and need to be patched and restarted

If the server is running out of date mods, the message still says YOUR mods are out of date, when its really the server is out of date.

If you know the server has been patched and up to date (and not running mods that can not be downloaded anymore), then go to your mod directory and delete all mods which will force them to re-downloaded.

actually the message that pops up is the mod map cannot be found
The servers you are trying to join aren't updated with newer versions of mods, whether you've downloaded them or not. Your client is -trying- to download them, but can't use the version they're on because it no longer exists.

I was going to say this too. It makes sense to me that if a server is running an old mod you will not be able to download it and it will error out. I don't see what's confusing about that. You do not download the mod from the server using it, and steam isn't going to keep every version of every mod ever released...

Saying that I think it's actually a very generic error message because I'm restarted after getting that error and it's worked. I've also deleted all the mods out of my folder and rejoined (redownloaded the mods) and it worked after getting that error message.
