Best singleplayer metal gathering strategy?
I have 6 forges on the rim of the volcano. An anky and doedic for gathering, and typically my two quetz's and 4 argies to caravan the loads from the forges to my base at 69.5 84.7 (just north of herbivore island). I'm level 71. I plan to make an all metal base on platforms on the edge of the redwood forest biome that looks north at the volcano and, if possible, have an industrial forge there.

My questions are:
1. Pre-quetz saddle, am I farming metal the most efficient way in singleplayer?
2. Can an industrial forge fit on a tree platform with no overhang? If yes, is more than 1 forge needed playing solo, or will 1 be plenty for my farming rates?
3. Post-quetz saddle, would it be most efficient to get raw metal from the volcano to my industrial forge platform with a quetz saddle with a vault (or two, if possible) on it?

1 Industrial forge is plenty enough. It works roughly 20x faster than the vanilla forge, and makes charcoal, too.

You playing with default gather rate?

Oh forgot to add the rate, for resources I'm playing on 3x. Don't really want to go higher as I enjoy vanilla aspects of most games and I think it would feel to different much higher than 3x.

1 forge, got it :)
