Trouble climbing off the top of ladders/climbing down them?

Is it a game bug? Is it something to do w/ the height or width of a character's body part? I have a lot of trouble climbing off the top of ladders onto a surface (regardless of it being a ceiling, or a hatch roof, w/e) and currently I can't even climb down a ladder without getting this ridiculous climbing motion while moving around (looks like im climbing even as I run around, easily cancelled by jumping or something though) - that's assuming I don't actually FAIL outright to climb down and just plummet to my death lol

Having a lot of problems with this, and only in what feels like the past week. Feels weird man.
Any advice/mutual suffering?

Yeah, I checked it out. Seems similar. Just started happening after a very recent very MINOR update, and it's happening nonstop to me now. I feel like it has something to do with the character's height or body part changes to width and height but to be honest I'm not sure.

One thing I'm 100% sure of - it has NOTHING to do with mods. I do not mod this game, so I have no mods that could be causing the problem. The game broke itself, I didn't do anything.

i have a similer/the same problem. I can't climb up ladders to the 2nd floor of my house. not sure if it's the low ceilings though.

Your character height has nothing to do with it.

You know I gotta say something else I've noticed lately, maybe since this update you've been mentioning - when I crouch/prone a lot my character seems to get stuck in the map, and it takes quite a bit of effort to actually get out of it. Usually about ankles - shin deep or so, but either way it kind of looks like I'm floating there. This all started lately. =(

I have the same problem with irrigation pipes. If I walk into one, I get stuck and can't get out. Thank the creators for singleplayer console.

who uses ladders ^^

i build 1 wall high, put a hatchframe. open the trapdoor. jump, and on the correct moment press e (to close the trapdoor) congratz, you now stand on top of the trapdoor (next level) without using a ladder. rinse and repeat

playing in a pve/pvp server learns you some tricks.
