If you put them in a well surrounded by walls, they are much easier to use. You can fall into the corners but it takes effort.
First of all, was that really hard to make a "left" and "right" staircase? Only have to flip the 3D Model...
Second, why a half turn ? Why not another version of 1/4 turn which is easier to step on ?
Actually they should have made this:
1/4 turn left staircase 1 wall high
1/4 turn right staircase 1 wall high
1 straight staircase 1 wall high
That would let us make almost all possible combinations of straight / left / right and odd number of walls wouldn't be a problem either..
Snapping two 1/4 staircases on eachother would have done the same thing they added right now, but it's easier to work with 1wall high, besides the straight one would let us choose how to make the turn
In addition they coul also add:
1/4 turn left staircase 2 walls high
1/4 turn right staircase 2 walls high
I am myself a programmer, not that good as i just come out of school, but please those are basic ideas that at least one of you should have think about..
